New nodule after total thyroidectomy

I had a total thyroidectomy in August, RAI in September followed by full body scan which showed uptake only in thyroid area. I had an ultrasound last week which showed a small nodule with vascularity. Doctor doesn’t want to “over treat” so we’re doing another ultrasound in 3 months. Has this happened to anyone else and should I be worried (trying not to).

I have had two partial thyroidectomys over the years, then RAI 20 months after the last one, which was almost 2 years ago. Since then my levels have very slowly come down but I’m still not at the stage where my consultant will prescribe me thyroxine, I’m really confused as to why it is taking so long as I was told that I would be under active within the year. The consultant doesn’t seem to be unduly bothered about it but my weight is starting to increase, even though I eat healthily and keep active, I also seem to be suffering with muscle and joint aches and pains and it has occurred to me that I may have some kind of re growth of nodules as my levels are classed as normal . I would be interested in what you manage to find.

Hi, sorry for lateness... i have only just seen this post.

I had a TT jan 2019, and a scan i had in nov showed a 3mm something (possibly a granuloma) i was pretty worried about it, as my oncologist was rubbing her hands together (i refused rai, and still do) at 3mm was too small to do anything about so decided to continue with watchful waiting..... and assess if/when it grows.

Had another scan in feb and it had gone. Which i was delighted about....

So onwards i go... still trying to get meds right and deal with symptoms from no thyroid and parathyroid damage from surgery. Hmmph. Hope all goes well for you.

Sorry I have just seen your post. There can be regrowth of the gland. I remember when I had my ftt 24 years ago I was told by somebody that theirs had regrowth. Roll on 19 years and I developed several modules which were removed
