AST/ALT Ratio
Hi everyone, I hope all is well. I recently got Bloodwork done after several years not getting Bloodwork. In the past, I drank a lot in college (I'm a 31 year old male, 200 pounds, 5' 11). All bloodwork looked fine. I always pay attention to the AST/ALT numbers due to my past heavy drinking history

How to help my husband
My husband was diagnosed with alcohol related cirrhosis of the liver a couple of years ago. He has been a heavy lager drinker for many years and this has caused a terrible strain on our marriage. He has always refused to stop drinking. Even after his diagnosis, he continues to drink. His view point

Is there anyone out there who's gone through this before??? Please help...
This is my second time posting on here, but my first post since my liver biopsy. They took five pieces of my liver from different parts and there was no disease or fibrosis found. This is after four fibroscans showing f zero fibrosis, two ct scans showing normal organs, multiple normal bloodwork results

Struggling with life
I have posted a few times lately, but myself and my partner are struggling. After feeling absolutely crap with ascites and sickness, for the first time since being diagnosed last December, my partner can only focus on the bad. He's such a lovely man, happy, funny. We have loved each other fiercely for

In the depths of health anxiety yet again…
I’m 67, and I’ve suffered from severe health anxiety for most of my adult life - and that could qualify for a post in its own right - but as I’m also someone who likes to drink alcohol, too, I thought I’d post on here. I stopped drinking completely at one time, albeit only for a short while, and

You are what you breath - but what you breath varies...
MY reason for writing this is one or two people liked my answers about the strange world of breathing. I am not a clinician, nor a scientist so beware taking me literally. However some things are self-evident dear Watson. We breath in a mixture of oxygen (20%) , nitrogen (79%) and a tiny amount

What do you suggest?
An update - hubby readmitted to hospital just over 3 weeks ago, which was only 4 weeks after previous admission.Getting any information from the medical team is a nightmare: I don't know if he's seen a liver consultant or nurse. I gather the kidneys have improved, the albumin infusions have stopped,
