Have had NASH for 25 years am told now I have cirrhosis have lots of questions. I also have type 2 diabetes and CAD with 12 stents...and recently diagnosed with AFIB. I feel like I'm playing Russian roulette ...which thing will get me first. I don't drink and never have been a drinker.. I do need to lose 30lbs. I'm insulin dependent so as those of you may know...it isn't easy to lose weight..however, I admit I could certainly do better. My A1C is 7.4. I guess my main question is once you have Cirrhosis, my dr says can't reverse. Anyone on here have actual Cirrhosis and have been able to reverse? By accident, dr discovered 2 small lesions on liver which led to MRI which led to diagnosis. Very small..will have another MRI in 4 months. Anyone with lesions? Feeling rather doomed.

Hi, Others on here are probably better placed to respond than me but I’ve seen lots of posts on here from people who have managed to reverse cirrhosis through lifestyle. I have 2 kids with type 1 diabetes who are on insulin so I know it’s tough, but I also know it’s possible to balance carbs with excercise and insulin. The more active you are the less insulin you need. Have you done a Daphne course on dosing insulin based on carbs? It may be a type one thing but your diabetes nurse could advise. You may find that it helps your liver and other health issues too.
I’m typing this and thinking I should be taking my own advice as I’m no waif myself!
thank you I looked that up as I had never heard of it and it is only for type 1
That’s a shame because it’s really helpful. Basically you calculate your insulin based on the carb content of the food you are eating and your blood sugar levels. I guess you must be on a fixed dose of insulin instead. Type 1 and Type 2 are quite different. Diabetes UK have lots of information on diet and lifestyle which might help. But that may be something for after Christmas when you won’t have as many temptations
