Husband’s first Docetaxel, day 4 and struggling
Hi all, Is there a posting or other source listing details and ways to victoriously endure 6 rounds of Docetaxel? My husband is 70 stage 4 . He is on immune suppressants due to a prior liver transplant. He was given Neulasta for the day after Docetaxel(D). His biggest struggle right now is sleeplessness

I got my own last Thursday, waited two and half years and had one faulty call got to the hospital and it wasn’t as we wanted . But it’s been in since Thursday and all good so far 👍🤞. Keeping fingers crossed that it keeps going well, I would like to thank everyone that sent me best wishes. Stay safe

Liver issues and leg pain?
Fairly random question but while I wait for a drs appointment I thought I'd ask....I am awaiting a liver transplant for PSC and I'm getting those dulcit aches in my side that usually indicate imminent cholangitis, but! Whenever this happens I get really bad sharp aching down the outside of my upper leg

Ambroxol: Experimental treatment for PD
Does anyone know anything about the clinical trials going on in the UK with Ambroxol as a treatment for PD (a repurposed cough medicine)? The preliminary results look good. I understand that results have been released but I can't find It. Please reply if you have info. Thanks

Supplements for arthritis and rivaoxaban
Hi all My husband has paroxysmal AF and a pacemaker takes digoxin and Rivaoxaban. He has slight arthritis in both knees(too much playing hockey in his younger days!) and not bad enough to take painkillers all the time. Bothers him the most after sitting for a while and then moving again. Before his

Abnormal liver results
Hi I’ve had raised ALT, AST and GGT for circa 15 years now. My ALT has been up and down between 55 and 90, the AST around the mid 40s and the GGT between 90 and 200. I am 56, overweight, but with a muscly physique due to several years of resistant training. I have drank alcohol all my life and feel

Heart failure
I had a P and A in 2021 to stabilise my fast heart rate in Permanent AF. Although still in AF, I thought that was my heart sorted. Last year I had pneumonia and then at Christmas another chest infection, that has taken until now to sort out. As I am still breathless and very fatigued, I had a chest

Follow up Endoscopy for Cirrhosis
My husband has his first follow up endoscopy next week after having Decompensated Cirrhosis almost 2 years ago (was meant to be sooner but had to chase up). He had 2 varices which they put bands on initially (one burst after food poisoning, they were surprised they didn’t find more). He is really anxious

Update on my Cirrhosis
Good morning all. Just a quick update on my cirrhosis diagnosis caused by alcohol, smoking and obesity. I'm 18 months Alcohol and Cigarettes free now and lost nearly 3 stone through stopping drinking alcohol, smoking, eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise. I feel a lot healthier now than I have

What is the Kpa score on a Fibroscan that indicates cirrhosis?
I recently had a Fibroscan and had a score of 9 which has freaked me out a bit, so I’ve tried to cut back on drinking and eat healthily. I’ve seen my GP for a follow up and he didn’t seem too concerned, I thought I was close to cirrhosis so am pretty scared, as I thought the Kpa for cirrhosis was 10

Mental health and cirrhosis
Me and my partner have together for a year now. Started as friends, knew from the word go,he had cirrhosis. But it didn't change anything, still wanted to form a relationship with him. He had a call from a liver nurse today. She was very blunt and matter of fact. She triggered him again. She talked about

cirrhosis or not??
I was asked to take part in a Fatty Liver clinical research study and had to go through a number of pre tests to establish I was suitable for the study. After many blood tests/fibro scans etc I had a Liver Biopsy. Unfortunately, this showed I had Cirrhosis of the Liver and I was unable to go forward
