Hi Lena, as you have just had these results do you have an appointment scheduled with your specialist? Certainly schedule an appointment to discuss this with your GP and to ask for referral back to the specialist. The doctor/specialist will look at the complete picture shown by all the blood test results and will know your medical history. If URSO is not working for you there are second line therapies now available, Ocaliva and Bezafibrate are available in the UK.

Try not to worry, not easy I know but stress is not good for us. PBC for most is a slow progressive disease so there is time to bring your numbers down. I remember it took a while for my numbers to reduce.

Meanwhile - you are probably already doing this but - eat a healthy well balanced diet avoid all processed foods and cut out any hidden sugars. Keep busy but also have good rest.

Come back and let us know what the doctor advises.

Also the PBC Foundation has a help line if you want further help, they have access to specialists for any questions they are not able to answer. 0131 556 6811.

The PBC Foundation is free to join, their website is comprehensive.

URSO dosage is weight dependent. You can find a weight/dosage chart on the PBC Foundation's Web site. Do give them a call they have well trained experienced helpers.

Thank you it’s all thanks to a quick diagnosis and medication 😊 it just takes a while for the Ursodeoxycholic and Octilva to work.
