Recently every night my hands become incredibly itchy to the point of distraction. I have liver cirrhosis, is this normal? Many thanks

weird place for a MS hug
Hello MS family, I pray that all are doing as well as they could. Its spring time. I know hot weather does not do the body good. In my case winter nor summer does my body good because I am affected by both hot and cold. Well my weird question is does anyone have their MS hugs in other places other

Fine blood tests and ultrasound elastography after heavy alcohol abuse - am I safe then?
I suffered alcohol abuse for 3 years, and now I am a light drinker. I had normal blood tests, ultrasound and elastography 1.5 years ago. Am I safe as long as I drink in moderation (0-2 beers a week), or should I check my liver with elastography again? I assumed that I was safe since my results were

Fibrocscan results
Hi all. Thought I’d give an update after my previous few posts. Fibroscan results were good, 4.9 KPA - which I’m amazed at after my drinking history. Was told by the specialist to ignore my slightly elevated AST and to not bother keep testing it. Most likely muscle damage from the very physical job

Start of symptoms
Hi All Managed 6 months and a bit what I thought was symptom free of cirrhosis! 3 weeks ago after a meal I went into a shaking frenzy and within 1 hour I had a temp of 39.4 and the following 2 days 38.1 on average! Every muscle in my upper torso especially neck and shoulders felt like stone and! Passed

New test reliable?
Hello everyone. I hope your Saturday is going well. I spoke with my GP this morning to receive blood test results. She said my liver tests are good, my ALT only 50. She explained they did a fairly new test too, called fibrosis 4, known as fib 4 and that assessed scarring of the liver. It was really low

Recent diagnosis
I’ve recently been diagnosed with cirrhosis and mild encephalopathy. There is also a suggestion that I may have autonomic failure. Has anyone had a similar diagnosis? I’m really frightened and am getting minimal support and advice from my doctors.

I was previously a heavy binge drinker, i had liver function tests which were ok but slightly raised GGT. I stopped drinking completely a couple of months ago and had the blood test again, it has risen rather than going down. i am otherwise very fit, healthy BMI and a good diet. Does anyone know why

NHS failing
Well being diagnosed with Cirrhosis 22/09/2022, I had my first 6 monthly HCC scan 07/03/2023 I was strangely excited to see the hard work it had taken to lose 3 stone, completely abstain from alcohol, endoscopy exam clear & not a single symptom of my diagnosis! I was met with a STUDENT and the most uneducated

Fibroscan of 9
I went to the BLT roadshow and had a scan and my score was 9. I’ve been a heavy drinker for years, so I knew it would be high., and I haven’t drunk since the scan on Monday. The clinician was lovely, and recommended I go to my GP to get blood tests but also said I shouldn’t be too concerned. Everything

GP visit
I have been to see my GP today to talk about the results letter I received which I told you all about. He said it's f4 fibrosis, not cirrhosis, and it is reversible. I'm going to see a fibro nurse next Tuesday, which has been arranged through my drug worker. I'm going to ask all the same questions. I

Heart
failure
gone from 44 to 166. My
liver
(GGT) from 41 (29/2/24) to 68 (10/4/24). My haemoglobin count is down to 104 from 115 (21/3/24). I suspect this may be coming from gut as so sore at times of late and due for follow-up investigation August.

Update from a worried mom.
I didn't realise it has been two months when I first posted about my son. It has now been confirmed that he is now terminal .It really bought it home when his gp rang to say he had completed the D1500 form that has to be sent to the government I think he said. Anthony went into a nursing home last Thursday
