Hi Everyone, A year ago I was diagnosed the NAFLD Cirrhosis to summarise Child Scale A, Meld 7 and well compensated. I was having an endoscopy for something else. Initially was shocked, panicked and experienced a myriad of emotions. I’ve just had a review after a year my first scan, and liver function

Meal sizes
I'm sticking to what I should n shouldn't eat and the same with fluid. My question is, is it safe to each larger meals ( again with the correct nutritional details ), it is just the larger the portion the more bloated I feel. This is only temporary and if I didn't have cirrhosis i would probably just

Secondary Hyperlipidemia
Hi I’m hypothyroid and my total cholesterol is raised which I’m working very hard to bring down with diet and exercise. I’m a very healthy weight and my bmi is fine. I have just learnt today that if a person is hypothyroid this means they have secondary hyperlipidemia, above normal lipid levels in

ARTIFICIAL LIVER
Good news , maybe we don’t have to wait for a liver transplant after all. I didn’t realise that machines existed that can carry out the function of the liver, at this stage they are external like kidney dialysis. Would think you have to hooked up permanently as the liver is always working.

NON CIRRHOTIC LIVER DISEASE
Hi all, I am trying to learn about non cirrhotic liver disease, unlike the more common NAFLD and alcohol related liver issues, there isn’t a lot of decent information to be found. As in my case LFTs always come back normal with ALT/AST only slightly raised, fibroscan stiffness low 3.5 kpa. But continue

25 years of daily heavy drinking
hi, I have been one of the lucky ones, and I’m not writing this to gloat, I’ve read many of the stories on here about the effects of drinking, and it has been through reading these and re-assessing my own lifestyle that I was able to finally go to the doctor and tell him the truth about my drinking.

Bile leak
Good morning, what I'm going to talk about is rather yuk but, can I ask the group if anyone has had q problem with bile leaks. I felt my stomach burn it started under my ribcage on the upper right. I felt it run down through my stomach and my intestinal track and without it sounding horrible, it ended

hi all, I promise I won’t talk about me or my fears cos I know you have all done so much to reassure me and must feel like you are bashing your head against a brick wall, … I really do thank you all from the bottom of my heart, however I have gone into a bit of panic and upset mode and could really do

Good news Tuesday. Today’s blood test results from the Liver Nurse were very encouraging. Albumen back to normal. Bilirubin heading in the right direction. With every thing crossed it looks like a compensated liver is possible. 3 months of hell may be easing. As Gene Krantz (NASA Launch Team Manager

I’m 41 with ELD liver disease waiting to see if I can get on transplant list. I’m looking for mental health support with this as I could be terminal if I don’t get the transplant, and I’m doing everything on my own setting up end of life (just in case). Other charities can’t help me cause they just

What are your symptoms of regenerative nodular hyperplasia and is it worth doing a CT scan?
Wanted to ask of those who were diagnonsed with RNH what you symptoms were and how it was eventually diagnosed (and whether you went through a battery of tests, all showing normal liver function)? It appears this has a lot of cirrhosis symptoms but is very difficult to diagnose (only a specialised form

advise please
can anyone help with more information as I am still unsure what’s going on. I was diagnosed with fatty liver last week. I understand what I have to do to keep a check on it. But I am having problems understanding why this has happened. Last year I had an ultrasound and it showed normal liver but dilated

Carvedilol
Hi, I've had my second (annual) gastroscopy since my Cirrhosis was diagnosed last year in February. The results were pretty much as the first one, so no change. The doctor who performed this test, different to the first one, suggested that my GP put me on Carvedilol. GP prescribed it and I have now

fibroscan vs mre/mri
My fibroscan and MRE/MRI result are st totally 2 different spectrum. Which is the correct one? Fibroscan show my CAP is 400 and Kpa of 10.9. MRE/MRI show i have no fatty liver or fibrosis. How can they differ so much?
