Feeling a bit stressed
I’m in the stressful position of selling my house and buying a new house closer to my family. The end point will be worth it, but I’m in a difficult chain and I’m worried it’s going to fall through. The sale is the result of a long term relationship breakdown which makes it even more messy as my ex partner

Fatty liver reversed?
Hi all, I was diagnosed with fatty liver after a fibroscan with a 287 cap score and a 2.9 kpa. I then changed my diet (avoided carbs for lunch and dinner (salad, quorn chilli) and had porridge for breakfast and only sometimes had a treat at the weekend i. e a small pizza and a chocolate bar for example

Liver nurse appointment
Hello all. Anyone have an expirience how look 3month check with liver nurse? Is there any scans they are doing there? I am worried as I will not get any proper help and checks... Also is liver biopsy 100% accurate? I had ultrasound says cirrhosis? CT scan says no cirrhosis and I am very confused...

Does anyone know if it is ok to have cod liver oil to build up my adrenalines. I have read it is a good idea. Advice appreciated.

Ultrasound and repeat fibroscan
Hi All, just an update. I had my ultrasound on my liver and I have been told it was clear, as were my blood tests. I had already had a fibroscan a few weeks ago, after not drinking alcohol for 4 weeks, and it read 7.5kpa. I advised the consultant at this meeting that I had drank a lot of water and

A little disheartened!
So I'd rather keep things positive but I suppose I can only be honest! Its 7 weeks since ablation for afib. Before ablation I was symptomatic during afib (shortness of breath, dizzy and palpitations and sweating) but when it self terminated after a while I was generally fine. And could excersise generally

I need the rest
You sound exactly like a mirror of myself. I agree, the augmentation and withdrawal are horrible. I take Gabapentin, 600 mg. about 7 p.m. and 900 mg. at 9 p.m. About 8:30 I take 100 mg. Tramadol. I am weaning off my last .5 mg. Ropinirole and usually take that at 7:15 p.m. I had about 1 week of beautiful

How long will the pain go on for.
I started on this path in April 20 after pain on right side, after US fatty liver was shown as an incidental finding. Dr said don’t worry. In Jan 21 the pain was harsh. In Feb21 they said liver slightly enlarged. In April they said it was normal. In June CT scan in a and e showed nothing but fatty liver

Does stress affect liver function ?
My husband has cirrhosis and is decompensated, although keeping relatively stable with medication. However, over the last few weeks he has been suffering more noticeably and able to do much less than usual. We have just been through a period of intense stress/bereavement/trauma and I'm wondering if this

Where are all the husbands talking about their wives and partners alcohol-related liver disease?
I had a most enjoyable coffee with a fellow liver transplantee this afternoon. I’ve not seen this lady (due to Covid) for almost two years, so it was nice to catch up. Her liver transplant was due to PBC (Primary biliary cholangitis). This poor lady does understandably get frustrated as she is often

Has anyone tried oxymorphone?
Hi, has anyone here tried oxymorphone for RLS? oxymorphone is similar to oxycodone but with much less sleeping difficulties in comparison with oxycodone. I have been doing extensive research for an opioid which exerts less sleeping difficulties because the oxycodone I am taking gives me severe insomnia

AST/MCV/ red palms
It’s been a long time since I posted on here. In January I had a liver biopsy that said nothing out of the ordinary besides mild bile pigment that they blamed on my Gilbert’s syndrome. I still had/ have URQ pains on and off but just learned to live with it as there’s nothing that can be done or found

Fibro scan?
This is going to come across as a very unintelligent question but here it goes. What is a fibro scan and how do I know if I have had one. I know that sounds ridiculous but I have had so many tests. Why haven’t I heard my doctor speaking of this when I have a liver specialist. All I have to do is not

Visit to rheumatology today...I wasn't expecting change of meds!
Hi Peeps 😊 I had a rheumatology visit today; I actually saw my rheumatologist - and not my clinical nurse - who I've seen for a good couple of years! I expected to go along and apply for funding for my 2nd round of Rituximab...nope, that didn't happen! My ESR and CRP were so raised, that she decided

Liver transplantation for alcohol-related liver disease in the UK: revised UK Liver Advisory Group recommendations for referral
There was a time when a person who required a liver transplant through alcohol abuse would have to show a commitment to a life of sobriety, and prove that they had not consumed any alcohol, or alcohol-free substitute drinks for at least 6-months. If a person was unable to meet these criteria, their
