I haven’t posted anything in awhile because I still don’t know exactly what is going on. Long story short, Liver enzymes were mildly elevated so my doctor ordered an ultrasound which showed fatty liver and nodular contour suggestive of cirrhosis. Finally got appointment with GI doctor that specializes in liver problems and he thought I may have a component of Nash or Ash. Although he said the consistency of the enzyme levels weren’t consistent with ASH so he ordered a fibroscan and told me that this was superior to ultrasound. I had the liver elastography done and the result was F0 no fibrosis with median score of 5.06. I don’t see the GI doctor until December. Was wondering if any of you had ever experienced this. Since the scare of cirrhosis I’ve lost 15 pounds and cut alcohol to almost nothing. The only symptom I have is sometimes an uncomfortable sensation on right side abdomen.

Liver Elastography compared to Ultrasound
Hi
I am so glad you have already started your journey to a better life. Losing weight and cutting out alcohol is very very good (cutting out alcohol totally would be really amazing). F0 would indicate you have no scarring on your liver, you should use this good news as a reason to kickstart yourself into a new revitalised healthier you.
There are several reasons why you may be getting discomfort or pain in your right abdomen. It may just be your body telling you it is feeling intolerant to certain foods or alcohol. I know I will definitely get pain if I eat fried food or cakes, candy etc... (although my type 2 diabetes helps me avoid the sweet stuff now ) my gall bladder will let me know if I eat too unhealthily.
But, your GI specialist will be the best person to totally reassure you.
Take care
Dave
