Are My Arteries Getting Worse?
Anyone diagnosed with atherosclerosis/heart disease, who has had a heart attack, stroke, a bypass or a stent, or indeed anyone who has had any kind of heart problem due to plaque in their arteries, will surely have asked themselves this question. We're told by the NHS and the BHF that we can't remove

Borderline Diabetes
There is someone in our church who told me today (30/03/2023) that they had a blood test and the results were that they are borderline diebetic. Apparently, this had been going on for a couple of years, so in order to help this person, does anyone have any ideas about diet? The person tells me that

Referred (by NHS) for IVF but SO doesn’t currently meet BMI requirements
Hello all, so my SO and I have been trying for around 7 years to conceive naturally. She has PCOS and has had no luck with Metformin/Clomid treatments. She was told she had to lose weight to reach a max BMI of 30. She was there or there abouts according to our scales (maybe a few pounds left to lose)

Targeting Glutamine Metabolism
New paper below [1a]. Full text: [1b]. First, a few notes. "Studies have indicated the importance of glutamine in certain tumors. For example, the inhibition of glutamine metabolism was reported to prevent growth of several tumors such as breast, liver, kidney and T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia." Wiki

Insulin Resistance, Parkinson's Disease, Consequences And What To Do About It
The topic of insulin resistance (IR) in PwP is not often discussed. Has your MDS or neurologist ever tested you for IR? It is estimated that two thirds of people with PD who are not diabetic, have IR and very likely are not even aware they have IR as discussed here : https://www.parkinson.org/blog/

A question for the diabetics among us.
What medicines are you on? I've been taking Metformin for most of my diabetic life. 1000mg 2x a day. I recently changed to Jardiance 5mg and glipizide 5 mg a day. I've been on that regimen for 5 weeks. My A1C went from 6.6 in Oct to 7,7 last week. I'm thinking i need more medicine. My eating

Prediabetic and trying to find the right foods to eat
Hi, I'm a prediabetic and I'm still learning what is ok and not ok to eat. My doctor had me on metformin but I stopped taking it 3 days ago. The last two days that I did take it I became really weak and almost passed out. So that's why I had stopped taking it. I'm hoping to get some helpful tips on
