Hi Itsanafiblife, I have been taking Metformin since 2002 and was only diagnosed with afib in 2017, so in my case, Metformin did not have any bearing on my diagnosis. However, I can fully understand that it can adversely affect other people. I am sorry, my response is not reassuring for you in this instance. Hope there will be people who had this side effect with Metformin, can hep you and give you some reassurance. All the best.
