I have been sick since 2016-saw 5 neurologists and 3 from major hospitals in San Francisco Bay Area. Neurologist #6 tried levodopa/carbidopa and got Parkinson’s diagnosis. 2019 diagnosed with MSA probably C. Released from neurologist and now in Hospice for pain management.
Has anyone experienced pain in jaw and traveling up my face into head? Can this be caused by MSA? X-rayed teeth and no problem.
I just want to say I learn so much on this website- Thank you so much!

could be TMJ tempororal mandibular joint Syndrome? If so it can be treated successfully with a mouth “splint” made by your dentist! Or also called anNight Guard : a.co/d/9HqAjcO
my wife had very bad pain in her neck they call it coat hanger pain as my wife’s neck leans to the left. I’m just wondering if have bad neck pain if this is affecting your jaw. My did have Botox injections in her neck this did help for a few months but it cost £1000 $1300 dollars.
This could be neuropathic pain (nerve pain) in which case it would be burning in nature and can travel. Drugs such as gabapentin can be helpful for this type of pain. Or it could be due to muscle rigidity and spasm in which case we would try a small dose of muscle relaxant at night i.e. clonazepam. If it is caused by extra uncontrolled movements (dyskinesia), you may need your Levodopa doses reducing.
You are in the right place to get your symptoms controlled; although MSA is rare, hospices are excellent at pain control. Feel free to share this message with your medical team.
