Lenvima oral meds for HCC
I am wondering if anyone recently has been on Lenvima? It is scheduled for me and I am wondering about side effects?

Jimmy's Birthday Celebration
He was on the Lenvima then and so very sick and weak.
So it was really special and a memory I'll always cherish. Here's a picture of Jimmy at the concert on his 63rd birthday.
Remember that no matter how long we have, to LIVE each day to the fullest and cherish every minute.
Immunotherapy treatment #1
Yesterday was his first Immunotherapy treatment and Lenvima combo treatment, so we are moving forward with prayer and hope that this treatment further shrinks the tumors and he experiences few side effects. Wish you all a blessed day!
Catching Up
Dr. wants him to continue the Lenvima at lower dose for rest of month. On November 30th has him scheduled for MRI and lab work and will decide where we go from here based on those results. He says Jimmy appears to be holding his own.
Paracentesis Tomorrow
. ❤
He's feeling wiped out right now from Lenvima. After he takes about a week, has to back off for a couple days because it makes him so sick. I probably won't give it to him tonight and tomorrow night and let him get some strength back.
Upcoming Procedure
He's taking a reduced dosage of Lenvima (2tablets) because of side effects and sometimes has to back off for a day or two even at lower dose due to side effects.
Insurance was giving problem about refilling his xifaxan. Wanted the GI to try alternative medicines that are cheaper.
Good Results in MRi
So back off Lenvima, on Doxycycline and Silvadene cream for the sores. It's been a week and saw primary AGAIN yesterday and sores appear like they are healing.
Other good news is the MRI that oncologist and GI had wanted of brain and upper spine showed no cancer.
Anyone have experience with Avastin/Tecentriq
The oncologist had said this is usually easier on you than regular chemo and didn't think it would be as hard on him as Lenvima had been. Kind of blew my mind that I have to have a teleconference the day before to explain treatment. Has anyone tried this and if so, how was it?
Stubborn HCC patient with good news from docs, but still feeling awful
My dad has been on Lenvima for a year now, had two Y90 infusions and the tumor has shrunk considerably but is still large at 13cm. The blood tests and the scans all show stability. The radiation oncologist said there's necrosis, I believe, or death of the tumor.
HCC patient complaining of frequent 'poking' sensation above liver
He has been on Lenvima almost a year. His doc took him off it for two weeks because he was getting a dermatological condition on his arms. It went away when he was off and he restarted the Lenvima last week.
Question about Lenvima
He said he and the panel of doctors are now going to discuss the next step, but are keeping him on the Lenvima for now because he has no intolerable side effects.
Dad on Lenvima for 3 months, good liver function, status quo on tumor, though. Any encouragement?
He will continue on the lenvima and repeat the scan in three months. My father is an impatient man (men, hehe) and seems down on the news of no shrinkage (imagine, a man down on news of NO shrinkage heheheh, sorry).
How long into taking Lenvima before they do the first scans?
My dad has been on Lenvima since May 4. The oncologist has yet to mention when they start doing more than blood tests.
Dad with HCC started Lenvima 3 weeks ago, looking for encouragement
Had to wait until three weeks ago to start the Lenvima. First was ok, but now EXHAUSTED and a week ago had a fever that ranged from 99-102. His ONC had him tested for COVID tho no symptoms. Negative. The fever is still low grade but no word on why.
