Hysterectomy option
I have had Endo for the last 20 years and had, to date, 17 operations, 16 laparoscopys and 1
laparotomy
. I have also had numerous courses of Zolodex. Last op was July 2011 and I had been symptom free until November 2015. Since then I have had a very bad flare up and have visited GP.

Pain after laparotomy
Hi ladies, I am 10 days post op. Had my left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to endometrioma. At the moment I have quite a bit of pain in my right ovary. Can feel it is swollen when touching it. I started my period yesterday. Is this normal or should I contact my Doctor? Any advice will be appreciated

Borderline serous tumour...confused
Had
laparotomy
to remove cyst and biopsy of omentum. So path results today are borderline serous tumour, biopsy normal and nothing in washings. So they say I'm stage 1a Now they are sending me for a CT?? I'm so worried they are not telling me everything.

Misplaced Mirena
Post-op, the surgeon tells me we need to go in again in order to retrieve the coil and that it may be better to do a
laparotomy
in for easier access internally. Has anyone ever had to have a
laparotomy
for a missing mirena coil?

Here's what the GYN said
Hi ladies, So I went to the doctor today to get another opinion. If you remember correctly from the other day, I've had a TV U/S that showed nothing, normal CA-125, and a CT abd/pel with contrast that showed bilateral ovarian cysts under 2 cm. This new doc says she would rely on the u/s more than the

Full oral bowel prep before laparoscopy/otomy
I'm due to have a
laparotomy
that may become a
laparotomy
, to remove a 9.5cm endometrioma. Gynae said I should have a full oral bowel prep the day before in case of any bowel repair is needed during the op. He said I would drink liquid that would clear out my bowel.

Laparotomy agony!
Had
laparotomy
3 days ago due to awkward endometriosis. (Was hidden behind stomach muscle and was problematic to get to.) I have a large scar from left hip to couple of inches past belly button. Also had laparoscopic through belly button at same time to clear adhesions. I am in agony.

Feeling miserable, should I change gynaecologist?
I left being told that I would have laparoscopic surgery that may become a
laparotomy
, that he would remove the cyst and look for endo, and that I may need more surgery later if endo is found.

Can we talk about the aftermath?
Hi all of you lovely sisters, I hope you're all coping and finding the love and support you need every day to keep going, and hopefully finding windows of joy in there! I often struggle with the image of Endo, and the images that are used to portray Endo (I know I've ranted about it somewhere, probably

Still suffering 24 years after hysterectomy
I was prescribed Danazol, 4 months and 4 stone later, it was agreed it hadn't helped so I had a
laparotomy
and Gilians ( I think that what it was called, my womb was lifted) the cist was cut away, chocolate cist burnt away and my womb lifted.

In Agony Waiting for Op
I've seen my consultant and will be having a either a Laparoscopy or
Laparotomy
to remove it, although with the size of it he thinks it will more likely by a
Laparotomy
but won't know till he starts the op. My problem is he told me I might be looking at a wait of up to 40 weeks!!!

Psychological imbalance after oophorectomy and hysterectomy
I had a surgery (
laparotomy
) then and the tumour was removed and subsequently had a second surgery (also
laparotomy
, this time the length of my abdomen vertically) where they removed one ovary, the omentum, the appendix and parts of the peritoneum.

Long time healing??
After taxol/carbo/ avastin had surgery
laparotomy
, total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo oophorectomy, omentectomy, excision of right side liver and sub diaphragmatic lesion, with repair of pleura, excision of pelvic peritoneum, not sure what all this means lol but that's what's wrote on my notes.

Survived (just)...
My husband informed me the op had gone to plan except for the fact my right ovary was so enlarged (over 10cm) a mini-
laparotomy
was performed instead of just keyhole. I've been told that this won't, however, scupper our South Africa plans on 1st Sept!!

Just moaning with no point, really
I had a fairly radical robotic lap a year ago (hysterectomy, excision and dissection of scar tissue) which has been miraculous (I had to get myself to the States to get it done, that's a long story). I've had 2 laparotomies before this successful lap which were a disaster, but after the surgery a year
