Laparoscopy

I had my first laparoscopy 6 months ago to excise my stage 3 endo. They also found adenomyosis and a lot of adhesions. I went to one of the most recommended surgeons, and felt great for a couple months after. Since then I’ve been getting pelvic, leg and lower back pain.

Since taking out the policy, I have undergone a diagnostic laparoscopy so know more details as to the what is going on e.g. obliterated PoD and proven pelvis. I have also been offered a hysterectomy but also told I can continue ‘watchful waiting’.

Hi everyone, I’ve just had my second laparoscopy for stage 4 deep infiltrative endometriosis. I had lots excised including around my left ureter, and bowel (I had to have bowel shaving).

Just wondering whether it can have an impact on what is shown in a laparoscopy and whether I should cancel my depo appointment with it being so close to my surgery date?

Suggested could do laparoscopy to exclude endo but not at that point yet, rule out other things first he said. [i]Physio July 2024[/i] - Internal examination showed tension in superficial pelvic floor muscles and exercises given, but deep pelvic floor normal.

Had a laparoscopy in November and nothing was found. It's a few days before my period is due and I'm in a lot of pain. I'm taking Nefopam Hydrochloride tablets (not doing enough for the pain!) at the moment and waiting for a CT scan.

Just wondering if anyone has had more than one laparoscopy done? If so how did you manage it? Slightly at the end of what I can physically and mentally take so hoping someone will be able to show me there is light at the end of the tunnel.

They have signed me up for laparoscopy to have a proper look which is great (still nervous but appreciative of being listened to) But due to the examination, I have had excruciating pain, very nearly sick and bleeding lots. I’m having time off work… absolutely sick to death of this.

has anyone had a laparoscopy that found nothing but had a second opinion where it was found? I am convinced it is endo, nothing else can explain the severe pain I get. Thank you.

hello, I’m currently under gynaecology awaiting a Laparoscopy suspected endo. But the past 6 months a few days before my period I have this horrendous sharp shooting pain in my bladder into my vagina and I called an ambulance the first time due to the severity.

Since the referral I saw a specialist via BUPA and have had a laparoscopy with endometriosis excision and removal of cyst. They found I also have adenomyosis and some small fibroids.

I’ve been diagnosed with mild to moderate endometriosis via laparoscopy and had this removed back in 2022. I’ve also got a slightly underactive thyroid so I've been put on thyroxine. Other than that it’s unexplained infertility. My husband’s had multiple tests and all seems fine there.

He sujested to perform diagnostic laparoscopy in addition to CT scan to verify the findings. Did anybody had these two diagnostic procedures and what was the correlation between two of them? Thanks.

I had surgery (laparoscopy) in 2019 to laser the endometriosis off. I have since had a son 3 years ago (c-section) and in March this year I had a hysterectomy (kept ovaries that’s it) and laparoscopy to cut the endo away again. It was on my ovaries, fallopian tubes, womb and bowel.

However, as it is not affecting me in any way at all, and because it took me so long (over 6 months) to get over the laparoscopy, I'm hesitant to get it done. If or when it bursts cannot be predicted, or how bad the outcome will be.

I've declined to take any form of contraception whether it be hormonal or non hormonal for the last 4 years, but due to worsening pain and multiple hospital admissions since my laparoscopy, I've had to bite the bullet and try this medication.

Im nearly 4 weeks post laparoscopy and mirena coil fitment. Im having to take painkillers nearly everyday at work for intense pressure headaches. So far the coil is working and i haven’t had a period (which is great) and would be a shame to have it removed because i want to give it a good try.

I asked for a laparoscopy (not for the first time and with 2 other gynos) but they all said no, my symptoms were not enough. She again, dismissed me and said now the focus will be on fertility and not treatment for the pain.

I had my first laparoscopy in Sept 2021 when they drained my 6cm endometrioma. Now, 2 years later my endometrioma is back so I was offered a second surgery in Oct. I was told the risk of complications (stoma bag) is greater with the number of surgeries. Now I am not sure why is that?

I am waiting on a diagnostic laparoscopy for potential endo. Pelvic pain started around a year and a half ago. I have had an internal ultrasound which only showed a small intramural fibroid but I was told this wouldn’t be a cause of the pain.
