second laparoscopy

I had my first laparoscopy in Sept 2021 when they drained my 6cm endometrioma.

Now, 2 years later my endometrioma is back so I was offered a second surgery in Oct.

I was told the risk of complications (stoma bag) is greater with the number of surgeries.

Now I am not sure why is that? I thought my previous surgery was pretty straight forward.

I am planning to get the coil fitted during surgery as my last hope.

I just wish to know all will be fine during surgery.

Can you ask the Consultant this question to settle your mind? Sorry I don’t have direct experience of this in my 17 years being diagnosed. However, Mirena’s have given me my life back a number of times by keeping my periods light with minimal pain and just the discomfort.

I hope you get answers and the Mirena works well. You can ring the Secretary and see if you can get a quick phonecall to explain?

All the best!

I really appreciate for your comments. I will discuss my concerns on the day with my consultant and I will get the coil. I hope I will experience the same relief after as you do. Wishing you all the best!
