Dreading bed
So last night my boyfriend was away, first time I've been alone in this house. We sleep on the ground floor, I say sleep, I should say go to bed. Sleeping is tough at the best of times but him not being there made me feel so vulnerable and on edge I heard every noise in the house. When I did start to

Tests came back - negative for PMR. Discs 4/5 and 6/7 have no space between and osteophytes (spurs) evident. At the moment I am taking Co-codamol to ease the pain and Amitriptyline to help me sleep. Awaiting appointment for orthopaedic surgeon. In relation to the haemochromotosis, I am being

My own experiences, treatment regime and results (this is a long one)
Having had virtually all the symptoms for APS and with nightly injections of Heparin relieving the symptoms you would have thought that I would have been diagnosed with APS by the experts! But no. My anti-cardiolipin test came back at 35 which is 31 over the limit for a positive, however because this

Non-invasive ventilation
Last Monday I had a fairly major attack at work; unusally for me I failed to respond particularly quickly to IV amino etc, and got progressively more exhausted throughout the day, until eventually I was put on non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP). I've seen it done to others many times and have always thought

Co-codamol
Took some of DH's co-codamol 8/100 last night which helped with the sore back a bit, though not overnight. See earlier post. Doc today prescribed the stronger co-codamol 30 instead. I've only had a total of 4 today (2 at 1 a.m. and 2 at 6 p.m.) and I do not feel fine. Colicky and feeling of 'not quite

Ouch!!
Not content with an exerbation of my asthma and my eczema my back decides to join in - yowser I have got the most agonising pain in the middle of my lower back. The pain is even worse than post-operative pain from Caserean and bladder surgery. Gave in and went to Out of Hours GP, who asked me to climb

From the Department of Unhelpful Comments... warning, rant alert!
Comment from friend who also has a chronic illness (not asthma) when I was saying how much I miss work. Friend: 'Well of course I HAVE to work, I can't afford not to so I just MAKE myself.' Well, I'm sorry, but the last time I 'made myself' go back to work, in June, after three days I ended up on

Tripped up...
OK I am just really looking for some ideas, not really medical diagnosis, but maybe some ideas on where I go from here. The situation as it stands is: Over the last 2 years, my asthma just seems to have gotten more and more aggressive and I even got to the point where I was being admitted or seen in

Hi I'm newish on here
I'm not still not sure if I should be on here or not! My blood markers for the RA factor are always negative although I do have OA. However my consultant says that I have a combination of both OA & inflammatory arthritis. I had to see him privately as the original appt with the rheummy clinic 3 yrs

Pleuratic Pain
Hi, I'm Claire I was diagnosed with Asthma about a year ago now and I'm getting on fine with that, but I get pleuratic pain a lot. I had pleurisy last year due to a viral infection and just assumed when this pain come back I'd caught it again but I haven't had any other symptoms. She told me there
