Side effects of levodopa
The most common side effects of levodopa are nausea and vomiting. These occur most often when first taking the drug and usually disappear over time. Nausea is much less common with controlled release Sinemet (Sinemet CR), which is absorbed more slowly than the regular Sinemet. In addition to a queasy

Advice on Pramipexole Withdrawal?
I was as diagnosed with PD in 2012.. At that time I was put on Pramipexole and Rasagaline and several years later- Sinemet. When I transferred to a movement disorder specialist in 2016, I was on 1mg of Pramipexole- 5 times a day (No this is not a misprint) I did not know any different until I started

Sinemet what is normal dose
I’ve been diagnosed since early 2015; showing left hand tremor and loss of smell a few years prior. Been on Sinemet since 2017. Started on 25-100 three times a day and added a half dose (12.5-50) around 2019. I told my MDS that off periods, especially before 2nd pill late morning are getting worse.

ADHD and PD
I’ve just been diagnosed with ADHD. Seeing as both ADHD and Parkinson’s involve lack of dopamine I’m surprised more people with PD aren’t diagnosed with ADHD. Sinemet doesn’t affect the ADHD symptoms for me. I’ve been prescribed Ritalin. Does anyone else here have ADHD?

Rytary in Canada?
I went to see my neurologist today to discuss the possibility of switching from sinemet to Rytary, as well as from Amentadine to Gocovri. Sadly I’ve been told that neither Rytary nor Gocovri are available in Canada, since they have not been approved by Health Canada. I was really shocked when I heard

Sinemet and speech?
Hi everyone, maybe one of y’all will have an answer this question. Before I take my sinemet I can talk relatively well and people can understand me fairly well but less than half an hour after I take my sinemet I have great difficulty, no matter how much or little I take. I feel like I’ve had my jaw wired

Dyskinesia after short term use of Levo-Dopa?

Avoid medication - and suffer!
There is currently, yet another post, about being newly diagnosed and wanting to be med free (a much abused term - many of the "Med Free's" get their levadopa from macuna instead of a pharmacy. That's like buying paracetemol from Tesco instead of a doctors prescription, and saying "I don't use pharmaceuticals

Timings of medications
I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to take medication n supplements together at the same time (in the morning) coz if I don’t, I forget to take later in the day. Or is it better to space them out? Which supplements can be take together with dopamine to increase on time? I am on sinemet 100/25 tds, selegiline

Mucuna
I’ve been supplementing with LDopa from NutriVita, powder. That seems to be the only thing that keeps the tremors under control. I’m also on sinemet 3 to 4 times a day. It seems to just be giving me more shakes. I also saw that another company, Banyan, has this product in both tablets and extract liquid

Hope you are all keeping well. I haven’t been on here for a while. To be honest I have been suffering with dreadful fatigue and struggle to do the simplest chores. The weakness in my arms and legs both sides has been a nightmare. I have lost a lot of mobility in my left hand and I now think it’s affecting

Tapering down Levodopa any advice ?
Hi I’m new here and London, UK based. I’m trying to wean off Sinemet (total dose per day 75/300) slowly and completely after taking it for 4 months (since diagnosis). I’ve had more intense non- motor symptoms (e.g. depression exhaustion) trying to come off than before I started the meds. I’m wondering

Rytary vs sinemet
I switched from 25/100 sinemet four-five times to Rytary 36.25/145 three times a day. I am experiencing increased dyskinesia on Rytary. I was expecting it to decrease. Anyone else have this issue?

Titrating down on Sinemet experience
I wanted to post my experience titrating down in case it helped someone else who was trying to do the same thing. I was originally prescribed 25/100 3 tablets per day (sinemet) 2 years ago. RH tremor was my only major symptom at that time. After 2 months of nausea, my body got used to the drug and

Tremors worse. Thoughts?
In December started Sinemet 25/100 X1 day , then increased 2X day. Then instructed to increase 3X day. I had a lot of difficulties sleeping so decreased down to 2X day. It has had positive effects on my symptoms except the tremors. Now I have attempted to increase up to 3X day beginning 4 days ago

Same diseases or not?
Several years ago I was dx'd with MS. I took tysabri, a monoclonal antibody treatment for two years. Then I was dx'd with PD and am still taking Rytary, a form of sinemet. My only symptom was olfactory hallucinations. This was smelling things that aren't real. I found that the false odors
