Mucuna + carbidopa = vomiting? What's going on? Help please!
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I normally take Barlowe's Brown Indian Mucuna instead of Sinemet (VERY bad reaction to Sinemet which got worse over time when I tried it for a few months in early 2021). The Barlowe's capsules are 650 mg extract with 40% L-Dopa, so approximately 260 mg L-Dopa each. I take

My wife was diagnosed with PD in 2019 by separate neurologists. However, she does not have 4 of the symptoms associated with PD. She does not have 1. Tremors 2. Still has a good sense of smell 3. Has a good sense of balance and 4. Her handwriting has not changed. She does though respond to the Sinemet

Advice please - Lyrica
For the last year or so I have been taking sinemet which usually relieved the RLS symptoms and enabled me to relax in the evening and sleep reasonably well. The inevitable augmentation occurred about a month ago and I have since stopped all but 1 cr25/100 an hour before bedtime. Recent evenings I spent

Methadone withdrawal without Rx
I take 15mg of Methadone two hours before my bedtime of 11pm. It is not a great cure by itself for me. I also take 1mg Nepro patch. Together it helps about 70-80%. Methadone seems like it reduces the intensity of the RLS symptoms but not the frequency. I think of it as palliative rather than therapeutic

Levodopa Overmedication – Common, Unrecognized, Devastating
Dystonia – muscle tightness – is a common symptom of Parkinson's. It can also be a symptom of levodopa overmedication. The only study I could find of this phenomenon was done in 1999 and received very little notice from the medical community: http://bbs.neuro.or.kr/space/journal/1999/9904010.pdf As

Husband so sick but not sure what’s going on
Hi this is my first time posting but I’ve been reading for a long time and I’m hoping someone here can shed light on what’s happening to my husband. He was diagnosed in 2013 with early onset (age 57) idiopathic Parkinson’s (rigidity and no tremors) and put on Sinemet and had two months of feeling better

Dear Comunity I am anxious about my mother age 76. She is taking 6 tbl. of sinemet a day. I found out that Mucuna Pruriens is an option. I was able to find MP with 15% of L-Dopa. How to use it ? Thanks for helping.

Does sinemet start working after 9 days 3tid. Worked well for three years then caused side effects and very little relief.
I’m on a second trial of 3x day because energy level, low mood and anxiety were. Improving with new antidepressant. After nine days mood anxiety and energy level have worsened. Should I just stop sinemet again I had been experiencing improved mood and energy on new antidepressant but side effects

Parkinson’s and Protein
“I explored diets and after realizing I was generally doing worse if I ate a lot of meat, I looked into vegetarian diets…. What a difference it makes for me.” —GAIL J., PWP You may have heard about protein being a no-no in the Parkinson’s diet. This is only partially true. The problem is that because

Sinemet Dose
My moms sinemet dose was too high (recently increased to 1.5 pills every 4 hours) so we took her back to her normal dose of 1 pill every 4 hours. She was on the higher dose for a month. How long after reducing a dose do things go back to where they were? Anyone have experience with this?

Getting the Most Out of Medications
