Am I the only one who thinks they are addicted to Sinemet? 13 years since diagnosis, am I still clutching at straws?

Could I be addicted to Sinemet?
What do you mean by addicted? Is a diabetic addicted to insulin? I cant see how you can call it addiction when you are just replacing what you have lost.
Sorry, Hikoi, I didn't explain too well. I do appreciate your reply. I may be in denial, but I wonder if my PD diagnosis is correct. If not, I have been taking Sinemet unnecessarily for years and what I attribute to wearing-off could actually be withdrawal symptoms
What makes you think you have been misdiagnosed?
Sorry I don't agree it is an essential drug to replace what we have lost if we were shaking and sweating in the corner maybe iwould agree I know when I have a short off eriod it is nothing like withdrawal you should listen to cold turkey by John lennon
Hello Hidden, addictive or not, if you’re thinking about stopping your medication, keep in mind that it can be very dangerous. I myself, once reduced the daily dosis of L-Dopa from 150mg down to 75mg. (don’t ask me why, it would be too complicated to explain ). Interestingly, symptoms seemed to improve, but after 4 days, my condition completely changed to the worse and despite the worsening of the symptoms, I developed anxiety states and panic attacks. It took me months to become better, and I ended up taking 4 times the dose of L-Dopa. To make a long story short… wean out slowly !
