Getting a letter?
Am I receiving a letter or not, according to the government guidelines I am, unfortunately the scottish government don't detail it enough so I'm unsure. Having SLE, on steroids, had rituximab in the last 6 months, have CKD and been on dialysis for the last 3 months too so I should qualify but really

Routine blood work and risk of Coronavirus
Hi, How is everyone doing their routine blood draws these days? I'm a kidney transplant and pancreas transplant patient and I'm afraid of going to my local lab which is highly populated and would put me at a risk of COVID-19 infection.

Health Risks Associated With Long-Term Finasteride and Dutasteride Use: It's Time to Sound the Alarm
New paper below, [1]. Nalakrats & I believe there is a role for a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor in advanced PCa. Some disagree. I would be remiss if I didn't point out that long-term use (as with all PCa drugs) has a downside: "This treatment may result in development of non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases

Kidney failure
Hi, My diagnosis is The left sided hydroureteronephrosis of a single kidney. Chronic renal failure of the 1st stage. I would like to find out if I have to self isolate as there is a big risk to get coronavirus or I have to continue to work as normal. Regards

Should I self isolate
I have a PUJ obstruction in right kidney which was stented. I was due a laparoscopic pyleoplasty but op cancelled as kidney function went down to 9%. Other kidney fine but should I self isolate as due blood test to monitor other kidney but not had that yet. Have high bp but that’s managed by tablets

Discontinuing Provenge in lieu of Covid 19; 2 out of 3 treatments.. still effective?
My dad and I were set to go to Cleveland today for his final Provenge treatment. However he received a call last night from Dendreon (the lab that makes Provenge) that his cells did not meet quality standards and would not be shipped. I called his oncologist in Cleveland and she was very emphatic that

Cyclophosphamide infusion but self isolating
Hey guys, So I have a few appointment this week at kings college hospital but I’ve been self isolating to obviously keep the risk of infection low for me and my mum. I’ve got my weekly renal appointment for bloods on Thursday(I’ve missed them the past 2 weeks because I’ve been scared to go out) and

More vulnerable to Covid 19 with only one kidney?
I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2017 and had my right kidney removed - I am in remission but as I now only have one kidney have a reduced kidney function which I understand is normal. I do get the flu jab free ( I am 58). I have spoken to lots of different organisation about whether I should consider

Hi everyone I am new to this so please be gentle with me. I’ve decided to get my backside of the couch and get moving. I am on Dialysis and awaiting a kidney transplant. It has taken me months to have the courage to go out the house and start the couch to 5k as I am embarrassed as I am very overweight

Understanding work colleagues
Over a year ago I posted about my work colleague and his understanding or lack of understanding about my lupus and what I was going through. The constant little jokes about being sick again, catching every bug going, having to take time off etc etc. Said person has now left my work to take up a position

What does eGFR with Cystatin C
What does eGFR with Cystatin C test do? My GFR is 78 and egfr with Cystatin C is 107 mL/min/BSA. Nephro says nothing to be worried - see you again next 6 months.
