Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg)

Reading on here it seems that some of you folks have been put on IVIG when you have had similar experiences.

I am wondering if anyone here with SS has been treated with IVIG? If so, what sort of benefit did you derive from it.....such as, did you have an improvement in symptoms, reduction in your pain levels, slowed progression of the extraglandular manifestations?

He got ivig a week ago and now the petechiae is back and I'm scared his platelets are going down again.

Yesterday, I went to my neuro and it seems the IVIg has cleared up my weird antibody issue ( thought to bring on the ataxia), and I no longer get long-term hives (another symptom), but the ataxia remained and is advancing. My neuro thinks some antibodies are still around. They are going on that.

anyone has any I would be very great full, my son is two year old and has giant cell hepatitis and autoimmune haemolytic anaemia I no to have both them together its very rare, he went into full liver failure 11 months ago with it but thank god since he hasn't been to sick he is on sirolimus and gets Ivig

His onco has been insisting on two month visits (he does receive IVIG treatment every two months). Now wants to do a CT scan at the next two month visit to look for large nodes internally that would not be palpable (he did have a large mass near his spleen before treatment).

Has anyone found that the r e treatment of Ivig as not been as affective after a short time of having the treatment . I had my 4th round and don't feel it worked as good as the other times .I also had a headache for around 3 weeks from the last day of treatment x

Hi is there anyone in here who has ivig for myasthenia gravis . I am trying to find out if the treatment has worked and for how long Ect . I had my 4th ivig given over 5 days and it did not seem to work as well as the other 3 times x

This follows two conversations I have recently had whilst being given IVIG in hospital with fellow IVIG recipients who also had ITP and had had a bout of shingles prior to diagnosis. Is there a link?

She thinks it might be a hypersensitivity vasculitis due to IVIG infusions, but it has lasted much longer than she would have expected if that was the case.

Has anyone found that sometimes after an IVIG they feel ok and other times not. Usually I feel ok, but this last one I feel nauseous and extremely tired.

The doctor told me I had ITP and treated me for 10 months with steroids, IVIG, and Nplate shots. After 3 more hospitalizations, I changed doctors in November.

I finished on the 30tb of December (with a week off in between my 3rd and 4th treatment because I had to get IVIG). My platelets keep dropping. Thank you.

He got a regularly scheduled IVIG treatment today. This just seems to be part of a pattern of bad lung outcomes after FCR treatment a year and a half ago. We are truly grateful for the complete remission of the CLL; but the recurrent lung trouble is wearing him out and frightening me.

Has anyone found their joints very sore on IVIG?

Hi, Ive been battling with ITP for a year and the doc have me getting weekly treatments but it dont seem as affective anymore can someone give me advise or insight

Was suppose to go for IVIG yesterday but they said I didn't need to, maybe things are looking up.

Back in the hospital with two treatments of Ivig and up to 66000 the next week. Next week down to 14000 back in hospital with one treatment of ivig and 5 days of prednisone. Last day of prednisone on Monday and back to doctor on Tuesday.

The first two high peaks are IVIG, in between them I had Rituximab. The last part is Revolade and it goes up and down a bit depending on how much Prednisolone I have. The next stage is to get rid of prednisolone and take a bit higher dose of Revolade.

In Oct of 2012 was my last IVIG while I was hospitalized. I was so happy because it had been over two years since the last IVIG and hospitalization. But sad to say Sept 2015 my platelets fell to 11,000 i had petechiae on both if my legs which I new something was wrong.
