IVIG

Hi,

Ive been battling with ITP for a year and the doc have me getting weekly treatments but it dont seem as affective anymore can someone give me advise or insight

I would like to hear also if IVIG can loose its effectiveness. I also usually have to go every 7-10 days but this last infusion only raised mine very little. Starting Rituxin today but still would have to do the Rituxin with my platelets being low.

Have they thought of another form of treatment for you?

Its raises mine for a couple of days then its back to the weekly treatments they are mentioning splenectomy that im not comfortable with

I had a time when the IVIG appeared to be less effective. The doctors had changes the regime of how it was administered. The older pattern was to give smaller doses over more days. When we went back to that the good effect returned.

I was having IVIG treatments along with steroids. I haven't had any steroids since October 22. I had an IVIG on November 2 nd, so far it has lasted a month, seems to be lasting a bit longer each time. Hope it stays that way.
