Hello every one, I live in the U.S.A. I have a great doctor. I was diagnosed @ 18 yrs old in November 1995. Nobody knew what I had or what to do until I found a new Dr. just being hired by my insurance. His name Dr. Andrew Nguyen. The first thing he did was start me on Remicade infusions on February

I also just had (3) days ago the first of 3
ivig
infusions as my IGg is low and because I have been unable to fight off a sinusitis/bronchitis infection that started 7 weeks ago. So far I haven't had any side effects from it. Wishing everyone the best, Dianne

Igg infusions
Had (2)
Ivig
treatments. Exactly 4-5 hours after rapid heartbeat. One week later massive headache, leg aches, lower back (which has been there since that day) kidney ache. Went to oncologist. Dr. tend to brush stuff off like you would have had symptoms right after.

Thursday I was given my first

and my count went to 11 and then on the Friday I was transfered to Oldham hospital. Saturday I dropped back down to 3 and so I was given a second
IVIG
on the Saturday. Sunday the count went to 25 and then on the Monday 45 when I was allowed home.

New ITP Patient Coming to the UK :) Help Please
High dose prednisone,
IVIG
did nothing good (just bad). On Revolade now, thankfully . so far seems to be having an affect! Now the thing is - I was just starting a new job when this broke out! I need to move to the UK (London) for it.

Autoimmune meningitis
:P I've had it for years to and fro, a year ago I got to know that it's due to Sjogrens and after avaiting full effect of rituximab treatment (and plaquenil, prednisolone,
IvIg
and medication for Hashimoto's) they now think my symptoms are due to permanent damage to the meninges.

IVIG infusions
A new oncologist suggested disease control was right and prescribed
IVIG
treatments, of which I get 25 grams every 30 days. Odd enough I sleep the first week, and soundly after AN
IVIG
. I am also going to physical therapy to try and get back my stamina from 6 years in bed more or less.

Beginning Rituxin 4 weekly infusions on Friday. Very frustrated.
IVIG
shot me to 230k and back down to 17k within the second week of July. I began 75 mg Promacta in July and late August it was 57k. 2 weeks later 29k. 2 weeks later 33k. This past Friday was 7k. Hemo said that he wants me off of Promacta on Thursday.

IVIG FOR PMR
Has anybody tried intravenous immunoglobulin infusions For PMR? My rheumatologist wants me to try it. It's very expensive and I'm not sure if insurance will cover it.

Update
I was on high dose predisolone which made me feel awful and I didn't respond to it, I was then given
ivig
to buy me some time. Basically it was all going pearshaped !! Anyway I was started on rituximab treatment and had to continue with the steroids.

Lupus? ITP?
I was given 3 dosages of
IVIG
through August. I started steroids yesterday, 150 mg/4 days. I got tested for lupus because my joints hurt and I crack a lot. He thinks it's just ITP but I'm so scared! Prednisone is the steroid i'm on. No bad reactions yet.

Recent Diagnosis
My platelets have been 13, up to 44 with
IVIG
, down to 22, up to 48 with
IVIG
, down to 15, up to 40 and 18 the last time I checked. That was a few days ago and I know it dropped. Is it chronic because I'm so low? Am I going to die? I'm only 16 and this is all so new to me and it's crazy.
