Has anyone had more than one FISH test?
I’ve been on IB for two years and 17p deleted and was wondering if the genetic mutations could change? I asked my oncologist and he said if I did the stem cell transplant he would request it but have any of you had a second test?

Valentine's Day!
National Donate Life! I was 49 when I got my GIFT OF LIFE - my kidney transplant! It was 1999 , 21+ years ago. I had strep throat as a child and would up in kidney failure some 30 years later. I have friends that complain about their wrinkles and their grey hair and I thank GOD for every wrinkle

Spinal Fusion identified while on Lung Transplant List
Good morning all, I have been listed on the Lung Transplant List for over 2 1/2 years now. They noticed I had the start of osteoporosis when I was officially listed which they put down to years of taking prednisolone. I have recently had another bone density scan and it showed up a spinal fusion? Has

Study indicates COVID-19 vaccines are safe for organ transplant patients.
In what may be the first study of its kind, Johns Hopkins Medicine researchers have documented the reaction of nearly 200 solid organ transplant recipients to their first vaccine inoculation against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The findings, they say, provide evidence that both the Moderna

COVID Stats...
Hi everyone! I had my quarterly Nephrology appointment today. I am a kidney transplant recipient from 1999 - ya, 21+ years ago. There were a lot of questions and discussions on this site about the COVID vaccine and should you get it or not. My nephrologist has a friend who is also a nephrologist

Quick Question to anyone previously shielding, over 70 and in Scotland
Hi all, It’s been a while since I’ve posted on the site but I’ve been keeping up to date with all your posts. I hope you’re all keeping safe and as well as you can. I have a question to anyone in their 70s who was/is officially shielding and lives in Scotland. Have you received your letter inviting

Vaccine, kidney transplant receiver and immunosuppresants
Hi everyone. I'm posting for my partner. He had a successful kidney transplant about 6 years ago. He takes immunosuppresants (Azathioprine) and has been offered a vaccine. Have anyone you post kidney transplantees that take immunosuppresants had the vaccine? If so, which one have you had? Were you

Only water fasting after renal transplantation. How long is safe?
Has anybody done only water fasting for over 24 hours after kidney transplant? I had done 7-8 days of only water fasting prior to KT and now have been doing IF of 20/4. I’m also a vegan of 16 years. Is long period of fasting on water safe for renal transplant recipients on immunosuppressive meds? Thx

Liver transplant ambivalence
I took my brother to his hepatology appt this morning (he has hepatopulmonary syndrome as a result of his liver disease). The registrar was great and gave us an overview of all the LT considerations and my brother stared at the floor quite disinterested-he won’t read up on it and would rather not know

Richter's in Remission - 11 months post transplant
I've been away from HealthUnlocked for some time following my allogenic bone marrow transplant for Richter's Transformation 11 months ago at MDA Houston. I'm happy to report my transplant has been a success and I'm in complete remission from Richter's and I'm feeling great. I tolerated the transplant

Kidney Transplant and Covid Prison
I was actually feeling more like my true self and confident that I was recovering nicely from the transplant surgery, then the covid hit and I have been a prisoner in my own house. The only social activity I have is going for labs and doctor appointments. I miss all the things I used to do: going

Is this real?
There are so many things racing in my head right now I don’t know where to start. I realize that I can no longer go on living with my existing condition. My father recently passed away in October. He was a liver transplant (2) survivor. He’s in a better place. I spent thanksgiving with my mother, along
