I was diagnosed as over active thyroid I was put in carbimazole at first which worked however then i became unwell and it dropped my
iron
levels and white blood cell count. I was then put in propylthiouracil 100mg daily then I had RAI in march this year.

Influences of sleep and the circadian rhythm on iron-status indices
I suspect few, if any, of us have ever really thought about
iron
tests varying by time of day. However much we understand with regard to thyroid, somehow I think most of us imagine
iron
as being more "bucket chemistry". But this paper might force us to re-assess!

Why don't GP's increase

in the first instance before launching into drugs - I don't understand. How should I come off the Pregabalin? Many thanks in advance! š

What to expect from iron injections
I just started
iron
injections this week and will be having them once a week for six weeks. The nurse says the full effect of the
iron
takes place a month after the injections are finished. I was wondering when those of you who have received these injections got relief from RLS.

Also, is the ability to absorb
iron
, vitamin D and folic acid affected? I have a good diet, but my levels are always low unless I supplement. Is this the reason? TIA

newbie - help please
The Gp recommended I take
Iron
tablets and keeps suggesting sertraline for anxiety but I would prefer to see if I can sort this more organically and not have it brushed off as just āperiā. She says hypothyroidism doesnāt cause anxiety but I have read elsewhere that it can?

Hi š
Long story short I was very unwell afterwards and lost almost 4 litres of blood, had 3 blood transfusions and half an
iron
infusion (started to react to it half way through!).... basically my health has been down the toilet ever since December.

Iron infusion
I wondered if anyone has experienced nausea with an
iron
infusion and how long it took to feel better or if anyone has been nauseous with Inhixa jabs as could be them and made worse by the infusion? Sorry about the length of this.

I am not anaemic but i do have an
iron
deficiency which was 22 a few weeks ago, I've been given
iron
tablets to take every day which I've been taking for 2 weeks and
iron
has gone up to 54. Folate is 8.0. Anyone able to offer any insight on these figures as I'm not getting very far with Google.

Advice please
When I first started my periods I was having very heavy periods that was lowering my
iron
causing me to have anemia. I was a very conscious school girl who was paranoid she smelt of blood and was going to leak any second.

She has included the
Iron
Panel that someone suggested getting done as my Ferritin levels are always out of range. I also have high cholesterol. I have read that this is a symptom of having Hashies. Would this be correct? Thank you. Much appreciated!

Possible underactive thyroid?
I have very low levels of vitamin d, high
iron
(219ng/mL) and was told to take double doses of vitamin d for a couple of months, then to slowly drop down to a normal dose. My TSH level is 4.93 and my free thyroxine is 14.2 (I have no idea what these levels mean).

Private/NHS Haematologist Referral to Access NHS Iron Infusion
Hi Guys Background is that for B12 to work its magic there must be sufficient
iron
in the body - even being slightly low in
iron
circa 18% deficient for example, can apparently hinder the healing effects of B12.

is this a good plan?
In preparation for an appointment I have next month with my doctor, I have requested the full set of
iron
tests and she has prescribed them. I have, for 20 years or so, been borderline anemic. I am hoping that getting my
iron
levels where they need to be can go a long way to giving me relief.
