Iron infusion

I have just come home after 3 weeks in hospital which was very hot and uncomfortable. I fell on the 30th May and fractured my femur between my much revised long stem hip replacement and knee replacement as well as my elbow on the opposite side. After 3 manipulations, one with gas and air and 2 with anaesthetic, and 3 lots of plaster, they decided to attempt plating it to hold it together as the other tries didn't work. I am hoping that this works as no real other options. So after 3x anaesthetics in 2 weeks plus buckets of painkillers I was ready to go home with a full leg plaster and arm plaster, but then they decided I needed a 5 hour iron infusion. I did finally get out but have been sick and nauseous ever since. I am not taking any meds now as too nauseous apart from the daily anticoag jab. Should say I had been feeling nauseous most of the time I was in but able to eat some food and rake my meds. I wondered if anyone has experienced nausea with an iron infusion and how long it took to feel better or if anyone has been nauseous with Inhixa jabs as could be them and made worse by the infusion? Sorry about the length of this.

oh my love you have been in the wars. Hope you mend well. No I wasn’t sick when I had an iron infusion. I wasn’t on any other medication at the time.

My goodness, you've really been going through it, poor you, I hope it all heals well. I can't help with the iron infusion but I do hope you're feeling much better soon.

Oh my goodness, you poor soul. I can’t help with your question but boy I feel for you and hope this operation sorts out your problem and is the last you need to have.

If you can take vitamin C - check it’s compatible with your infusion and that you can stomach it. I’ve been told several times by different people - one of them was the consultant who set a friend’s son’s leg - that vitamin C helps a lot with healing. 💐 get well flowers for you.
