Hi everyone my husband is now nearly 6 months post surgery and doing well but for the last couple of weeks he’s been experiencing dizziness and a lightheaded feeling usually on getting up from crouching or sitting. His blood pressure has been perfect each time we’ve checked it. We wondered about iron levels so have requested a blood test but I just wondered if anyone else has had this? Thanks

hi - would definitely check iron levels as I’ve had 5 or 6 iron infusions since surgery - just noticed from a previous post that your husband was T4a N1 - this is the same as my diagnosis 8yrs ago - all the best

Thanks Molly - he’s got a blood test booked for next week. Brilliant to hear you’re 8 years on, we’re in the waiting for first scan results phase!🤞

Tighan, my experience was similar to Molly's. I had low iron for over a year after surgery and diet change until I had infusions. That brought it back into the normal range and taking daily liquid iron supplements has kept it there, even raised it more. They should be checking ferratin level along with total iron, which is where I was below the minimum. Good luck!

Thanks - we’ll make sure they check for both

Hi, I am 6 years past surgery and now permanently on iron supplement. Make sure the ferretin levels are checked as well as heamaglobin. The gp kept saying that was OK but the hospital, kept saying my ferritin ( iron store) levels were too low. I am much better now I have the supplement
