Loosing the will to live
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease in 1996. Luckily my GP screened for the antibodies as my T4 was borderline; purely because his daughter had been diagnosed with it. At the time I was passing out all the time, I had developed psoriasis, I had brain fog, depression and a host of other symptoms

Latest appointment update…..ET investigation
Further to my previous post from yesterday I just thought I’d update you all of the outcome from my Consultants telephone appointment today incase my info may be of use to others…. Due to ongoing high platelets (usually in 500’s) I am currently under investigation for ET. I have had numerous tests

Solutions for Severe Anemia
Hubby thought he was finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, but unfortunately had a duodenal bleed in December. Ever since he’s been severely anemic. If he exerts himself in any way he becomes dizzy, nauseous and needs to have a nap for an hour or so. He feels tired all the time. It’s been three

Low Iron and Vitamin D
My daughter has just received her ferritin results back from her GP. She hasn’t been issued with any iron tablets the graph shows she’s within the normal range but it is down at the bottom end when it needs to be at an optimal level, so I've read, My question is, can anyone recommend a good Iron vitamin

Help with results please.
Hi, I have recently been struggling with severe fatigue, weight gain and a puffy face. My GP has prescribed me 125mg Levothyroxine but wasn’t happy about it because my TSH was very low and therefore she wanted to reduce me to 100mg. I was adamant that I don’t want to go any lower so she kept me at

Intestinal upset (diarrhea, tiredness, slight nausea) from ferrous sulfate?
I suffer from PLM and had low ferritin. I've taken oral iron for some years to keep my ferritin above 100. I've read that one of the adverse effects of iron sulfate can be stomach/intestinal upset. I'm experiencing my 4th episode of intestinal upset in a month. At first I thought it might be food poisoning

Latest Bloods
Hi All I have tried since 26th October 2022 to increase my T3 with Liothyronine. A very tiny amount of 1.25mcg at night, it seemed to be working fine until 2 days after my blood test - high heart rate and increased sweating at night, feeling too hot during the day, despite the weather being so cold

Severe Anemia and Imbruvica
I have been on 400mm Imbruvica for 6 years fighting CLL/SLL. I understand most patients consider them the same, I do not as I am tested every 4 months for both during Labs. So, please know this is not a debate for me, I simply have symptoms of both in post Labs with my Oncology expert. Most recently

Besremi One Year Update
Hi all, I've got my first Besremi injection on January 27, 2022. As I've shared before, currently no issues with the drug, but early on an uptick in migraine frequency until I got on CGRP inhibitors. My current dose is 150mg. Recent blood work (image attached) showed my WBC lower than the desired

Understanding Ferritin.
This is a link to an article from Iron Disorders Institute. It is about understanding ferritin and side issues. It is , obviously, written for a Hemochromatosis audience, but many of us need to figure out all the terms involved and understand them fully. https://mailchi.mp/irondisorders/hemochromatosis

The value - or not - of Liver function blood tests…
