Does iron in hard water interfere with levodopa uptake?

We are told to avoid supplements containing iron when taking levodopa because it interferes with levodopa uptake.

We will be vacationing in an area where the tap water has high iron content that affects the taste of the water and stains the sinks.

Is this the same form of iron that interferes with levodopa? Should we bring our own water, or is high iron in drinking water ok?

Thanks.

my husband is anemic and any form of iron supplement blocked his levadop. His Dr ordered iron infusions to bypass the gut so far it is working. I would avoid the water.
