NAC with ferritin deficiency or PA
Hi all. Just thought I’d pop in and ask my new friends if they know of any reason NAC shouldn’t be taken with iron tablets or B12, or whether NAC could actually have a negative effect on ferritin/B12 levels. Can’t find any info on this, so here I am 😊 I am awaiting latest blood results, so don’t

Elevated iron levels-advice please
Hi, Would just like a bit of advice. After years of infertility and miscarriages, we were referred for fertility testing. We have been refused for IVF on NHS due to diminished ovarian reserve which is pretty low for my age. I am 42 years old. I have always been aware that my haemaglobin has been on

Iron plus zinc better for iron deficiency anemia
reading about zinc I came across the following article. I mean it focuses on chronic kidney desease but I found this gem of info stating that zinc combined with iron is better than iron alone. Now I'm not iron deficient. But I thought this might be interesting for those who are. Beware too much zinc

What to ask Endo?
Hi all Sorry this is quite long. I'm looking for some advice about next steps and what to ask my Endo when I see him next week. Background: I spoke to my GP in March 22 because I was exhausted and anxious and people I barely knew were commenting how awful I looked! She ordered a load of tests which

Results Advice
Hi looking for some advice on my recent blood results please. I followed all protocols for testing as per usual. My iron seems to have gone down so I’m back to taking two supplements a day as I dropped it to one after my last results in November. Been feeling tired a lot with not much energy but I’

Heartened to know I am not alone in the struggles caused by pramipexole
I have had RLS and PLMD as long as I can remember. I’m sure all of those nights I struggled with symptoms as a child that were brushed off as growing pains…RLS. My mom suffers mildly. Unfortunately, both of my daughters also have many challenges that began as teens. What I’ve been through is so complex

Ferritin Questions
Hi everyone. I self inject b12, 3x per week. I also take a daily dose of methylfolate. In the past both of these have been extremely low, along with very low ferritin. Of late I have wondered if my iron was dropping, so requested bloods a couple of weeks ago. Folate happily is pretty good at 19( at

Tsh 7.09
Hello My mum is 86 & on 75mg level. She has recently had an iron infusion privately as had a ferritin of just 6. Those levels now normal I asked for a full thyroid but they don't do T3 & will have to do a fingerprick test on her. (If she agrees!) Tsh 7.09 (0.35 - 5.5) T4 16.6 (10.5 - 21)

Levothyroxine
I would discuss your results with your GP and also let them know what oral iron vitamins etc you are taking and make a decision from there. You should be able to book a telephone consultation. Goid luck

Newbie needs advice
Hey all 💖 So, I've classically been misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia after 7 years shuttling back and forth to gp. Been served anemic for two years just palmed off with iron tablets. Have so many symptoms of lupus, but only realised when I logged onto gp records online to see that my latest bloods show

Should I be asking for an increase in Levo?
I have an appt with my endo on Thursday to discuss my latest results and those from last August and April when I was taking different amounts of levo. I always follow the suggested procedure of stopping Vit B complex a week before, early blood test and not taking levo for 24 hours. My most recent

carbimazole and iron supplements
hi all, I have very low ferritin and need to supplement iron. Do I need to take my carbimazole away from iron or it doesn’t matter?

Restless Legs - changing treatment.
Can anyone advise me? I have had RLS for more than 30 years, familial predisposition. Been on Pramipexole for about 10 years - started with 0.088 mg. Over the years with the need to increase the dose - now 0.7 mg. Sleeps only about 2 + 2 hours a night. Has severe restlessness in the legs, like a wasps

hello everyone! I just wanted to update everyone on what is going on since seeing Dr. Nichols. First he is a fantastic doctor! He listens and I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area that has RLS to seek him out. Together we have laid out a plan to get me off Ropinirole slowly. I am going to

Iron Infusion
Sue perhaps you can help me, I have been successfully relying on diet for years but RLS seems to be catching up. I am in Australia. Perhaps its simply a matter of getting older (currently 79) but a couple of other things might be a problem. I tore a hamstring muscle or tendon that apparently caused

Tiny Levo increase but FT4 well over range
Just got results back from MMH. I’ll add historical results for comparison but they may be irrelevant as I am where I am! I take Levo only. Ranges were 3.1-6 for FT3 and 12-22 for all tests. 2021 on 100mcg TSH 0.01 FT4 24.9=129% (12-22) FT3 6.5=91.89% (3.1-6.8) Note: insomnia much improved
