visual problems since ohs
hi everyone I had ohs on 5 th June to repair my mitral valve. Whilst in hospital, and since I’ve come home I have had “ wavy lines” and “ shooting lights” intermittently in my vision. I have also had a couple of times a sort of weakness in my left arm, that lasted about 5 mins. Last night my vision

Blood test results and feeling "off"
I did my quarterly thyroid test last week, having brought it forward a bit due to feeling "off" - feeling very tired and lethargic, no libido, muscle weakness...this is despite stable thyroid levels that most would say look very good. Also had a lot of back and neck pain, which has been treated by an

Wake up very cold around 230 to 330 am . Any suggestions?
Wake up very cold and was wondering if any supplements might help this. Taking iron pills and b12 injections currently.

Iron Infusion Attempt
This week I saw Dr Robin Fackrell privately at Bath Sulis Hospital to discuss whether an iron infusion would be an appropriate way forward for me and if so how I could progress this. The outcome of the session is that Dr Fackrell will write back to my GP recommending this course of action for my RLS

Advice on latest test results
I have received iron panel results and I am seeking advice on the results. In may I posted full thyroid results most things were greatly improved. However, my ferritin levels remained on the lower end of the range 54ug/l (30-150). ( thyroid panel test have always returned readings between 40-60 ug/l

Does sore throat come with hypothyroidism and Hashi?
Hi All, I've had hypo for over 2 decades and manage it with thyroxine, diet, supplements and lifestyle. Never had any long-term sore throat issues, however it all started this February, when I went through a lot of stress, my thyroid went out of balance and I was struggling with increasing my meds

Sorry for the long post but I’m a newbie and wanted to give a decent background… I had covid at 38 weeks pregnant in December 2020 and ever since, i have suffered with crippling fatigue, lightheadedness, brain fog, nausea, headaches and muscle aches and pains. Initially told it was long covid but then

Coming off HRT patches
Hi everyone, I'm 55 years old and I've been on a bit of a health journey these last few years to say the least, with many debilitating symptoms including crushing fatigue. As part of the treatment for this, I went onto HRT oestrogen patches 18 months ago, along with the mirena coil I already had.

Good morning everyone, I am augmenting from pramipexole, I take three 0.088 mg per day at various intervals. I have had an iron infusion which made no difference. My ferretin is over 200. I find it so difficult to reduce and am up all night. Pregabalin

⁸Low Haemoglobin
My latest blood test showed low haemoglobin so my GP ordered a whole raft of additional tests to check B12, thyroid, etc as well as a stool test to check for internal bleeding. Stool test negative. Other test results outstanding. Could end up having the up AND down camera tests! Been reading all I can

Feeling woefully undermedicated……
Hi everyone, A friendly nurse practitioner agreed to run some blood tests for me this week. I remain undiagnosed. I’ve been using Metavive since January and have been trying to switch over to Thyroid S for a couple of months. I’m finding it very difficult to increase my dose (unpleasant side effects

Is this right or should I request a second opinion?
Been suffering fatigue on another level, weight gain, brain fog etc etc so ordered private bloods for fatigue through medicheck. Results came back as low iron, low Vit D and low T4. THS was normal. Doctors notes was possibly hypothyroid but seek GP advice. Doctor wanted to wait for iron supplements

Watching it for now
So, I had my exams, an ultrasound. My uterus is very thick and enlarged. But, nothing to worry about yet, at least that is what I was told. My clots come from the APS. They wanted to do a biopsy. But, I said heck no. I got scared. Trying to avoid it. But, my period got back to normal. Back to 3 days.
