Iron infusion scheduled

My iron infusion is scheduled for Monday, May 5. I’ve tapered my mirapex down to 0.0625 once a day. Does anyone have advice about how quickly I would see results from the infusion? Do you think I should completely end the mirapex before the infusion? Does timing matter? I have been on my current dose for 23 days and still definitely symptomatic. I don’t believe the symptoms will fully go away without another treatment. Does it make sense to get off the DA and then explore other medications after the infusion?

I always appreciate the perspective of those in the group!

It can vary. You may see results soon after you have it but maximum results are around 6 to 8 weeks. Ask for a new test at 8 weeks, not before.

So I probably shouldn’t go completely medication free? 6 to 8 weeks sounds like a long time with no medication. I think I’ve heard in this group that gabapentin takes a while to start being effective while still on DA. I’m trying to figure out when I should go off the DA completely. Wait until after iron infusion?

The iron infusion should help your withdrawal. Yes gabapentin is not fully effective for 3 weeks and also not until after your withdrawal symptoms have settled. I would not wait to complete your withdrawal unless you haven't been on gabapentin for 3 weeks. In that case you can wait until the 3 weeks is up.
