Is the best & cheapest iron panel test to do the medichecks £49 one. I want it to monitor progress on iron supplementation. Do I need more than just the ferritin tested?

Yes you do

It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron

Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test

If taking any iron supplements stop 3-5 days before testing

Not sure what the CRP level would really add in my case, so I may go for the cheaper monitor my health one.

The CRP level is quite important as it may account for a high ferritin reading whilst the iron levels could be low. It means there is an inflammation going on somewhere.
