Difficulty injecting Fragmin
Hello everybody, I have to inject fragmin daily and interferon 3x a week but since sunday i am struggling with the fragmin injecton. It feel like the tip of the needle just won't go into the skin as my skin is feeling very bruised from all the injections. it's strange as the interferon goes in fine

Peg Interferon - Anyone found bone structure changing?
Hi The meds we are taking affect the bone. Has anyone noticed any changes in their joints / bone structure? I am on Pegylated Inteferon and I think I am noticing some changes but cannot be 100% sure. Sherry.

Considering changing from Hu to Interferon and need support to make right decision.
Diagnosed with ET Oct. 2011 and been on Hu ever since different dosages. I am doing well and now my dosage is reduced to 1gr. one day and rest week days 500mg. I am also on 75mg aspirin and Bisoprolol 1.25mg a day. My platelets are under control. Hu side effects are anxiety, fatigue, restlessness, chemo

Peg interferon versus interferon alpha. I've read that interferon alpha can have an effect on the thyroid.
Is there any medical evidence that peg interferon is a better alternative if this is shown to be a side effect of interferon alpha? Has anyone else had the experience of changing types of interferon?

Hi I have et and am on interferon a. I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had a right breast Mastectomy and a week later had a tia which is
thought to be caused by my blood becoming sticky during op, cancer was found in the sentel node that was removed but I can't have another op due to it being considered to risky and the only option is radiotherapy but I'm worried how this will react with my medication and about having radiotheapy. has

Is anyone with PV on interferon?
I had a stroke last year and was diagnosed with PV. I have been on hydroxycarbamide for the past 18 months which has been no problem, apart from mouth ulcers, but I have felt great. Because I am relatively young, my consultant has advised me to change to interferon alpha within the next couple of weeks

ET & interferon
My partner has ET & it's being discussed by the docs that his treatment needs to be changed to interferon. Yet there seems a delay - we get the impression this is due to funding issues. Any ideas or has anyone experienced similar barriers. Many thanks

After diagnoses of PV/ET, how long did it take for blood counts to stabilize?
Diagnosed around 11 months ago, currently on daily Aspirin and Interferon Alpha 4 times a week. My consultant has confirmed my counts are slow to stabilize but they were going in the correct direction. Had a blood test this week and some of the counts are creeping up again, I just managed to avoid

Does anyone know where in the body interferon reduces the platelet count?
Because interferon, hydroxycarbamide, anagrelide et. aren't cures, I think the bone marrow makes just as many platelets as ever, but by the time the blood is extracted and tested the platelet count is reduced to show a normal amount. Where does the reduction occur---in the bone marrow, the tissues, the

Does Anyone Know Where in the Body Interferon Reduces the Platelet Count?
Because interferon, hydroxycarbamide etc. aren't cures, I think the bone marrow makes as many platelets as ever, but somewhere before blood is taken out and tested for the platelet count the platelets have been reduced in number. Is this done in the bone marrow or the tissues or the liver or where?

Anagrelide and interferon?
I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed anagrelide and intereron at the same time? I started on Pegasys fairly recently but it isn't controlling my platelets on its own and so I have been taking hydroxycarbamide as well. This was a short term measure because I don't get on very well with the HU

Treatment Finished and on the mend!!!!!
Today is Monday, April 1st. I finished my treatment on March 20th. My last shot of Interferon was on March 14th. Wow.....I am finished. I wanted to post this when I finished but my life has been somewhat hectic lately and I never got a chance to post. I just want to say that I find it so strange
