Face swelling on the left side
I am Hypothyroid/Hashimoto's and insulin resistant and vitamin D and B-12 deficient Just wondering - what would cause the left side of your face to swell. It comes and goes. Been to the dentist several times thinking it was a tooth. But no. Its not a dental issue any ideas?

starting home dialysis
Hi. I am 49 years old. I am getting the catheter put in my stomach in 2 weeks, so that I can do the home dialysis. Is it called PD? I forget what it's called. But it's the one I do when I'm sleeping. I feel like there is just no support or help to prepare for this. My insurance has some place

Blood test timing when insulin dependent
I have been underactive ever since RAI over thirty years ago. Unfortunately, due to poor management of thyroxine dosage (consultant didn't know what he was doing and left me to GP) I gained a lot of weight which just wouldn't shift. So I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was prescribed Metformin

Blood Sugar Monitors
Hi - Iโm nearly 10 months post Ivor Lewis and doing well. I do get dumping episodes though, and (Iโm self diagnosing here!) they can include what presents as the drop in blood sugar Insulin trigger aspect (as well as all the other bits..!). Not a disaster, and sometimes self-inflicted by unwise eating

Anyone have an opinion on this issue as I prepare to see a MO?
Could the PET/CT SCAN have read the high glucose in my system as met pelvic lymph nodes and met bone? Just asking since I was looking over my medical records for the last 10 years and the calcium number has always been in the mid-range, but the glucose has always been very high. (I am a type 2 diabetic

Flare?
I have read previous posts and really helpful but still not sure what I need to do now.. I probably reduced Steroid more than recommend. Started on 12.5 in December 2023 very reluctantly. I donโt like taking meds generally so def didnโt want steroids. I diagnosed myself and googling symptoms & confirmed

Drowsy after the pills
Hello, why do I feel sleepy after taking the levo+T3 pills (first in the morning)? The feeling of slackness disappears after about an hour ...could it be something related to insulin?

Has this been discussed on the forum?
I heard Hugo Rifkin interview Max Nieuwdorp about his newly published book"The Power Of Hormones"on his Times Radio Saturday review, yesterday. The author said that the future of thyroid replacement medication should lie in the method of diabetes insulin medication-ie continuous monitoring & administering

Doxycycline - A Warning For Diabetics
A fairly high percentage of hearties are diabetic although generally lifestyle is often a major contributory factor. Anyway recently I was prescribed the antibiotic Doxycycline for the macerated wounds (caused by Co-Vee-ID Toe) on my remaining foot. It turns out that this makes the body's response

An Enlightening Endocrine Adventure
After appeasing an endocrinologist worried about my suppressed TSH by a cunning lab trick -- withholding NDT for three days before going for the blood work -- I realized I needed to titrate up the dose. Many thanks to those who replied with their NDT experience. I cranked it up to nearly double what
