Periprostatic Fat & ADT
New study below [1]. Periprostatic fat is that which encases the prostate. As with fat stored around other internal organs, visceral fat can be excessive due to elevated triglycerides (caused by glucose spikes & insulin resistance.) Periprostatic fat is not an innocent energy store, it is hormonally

Does T3 use raise blood sugar levels?
Read a reply to an unrelated post, I think it was yesterday, that suggested that T3 raised blood sugars. Has anybody got personal evidence or printed research paper about this. As well as hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, fibromyalgia I am an insulin dependent diabetic( caused by sepsis/ acute pancreatitis

LADA
I’ve only heard of LADA diabetes today when my sister was told she has it. What should she expect? I’m type 1 so is that more or less the same? And diet and insulin and weight??

Relax...
I've been giving some thought about the whole paradigm surrounding LCHF, keto etc. Our ancestors, recent and past, were almost certainly never in ketosis, at least on a permanent basis but for people wanting to change their lifestyle some will freak out unless the urine sticks are purple, and will panic

Wk3 run 2. Seems quicker
So I completed the second run of week 3 this morning and although I’m following the podcast it seems that it’s all over quicker than the other weeks. Is this a normal feeling. I’m recovering quicker too which is nice. On the type 1 diabetes front I’m having to drop my doses of insulin and finally, bpm

Since being diagnosed with cirrhosis in 2016 and oesophageal varices my whole world has changed for the better, I was an alcoholic for many years and I’ve lead one heck of a life even though I’m only 42, I’ve also got Conary heart disease in which I’ve had multiple stents and I’m also a type 2 diabetic

Podietry or not?
I have type 2 diabetes and on 3 tablets which has now been changed to 2 and one of the others has been doubled. If this doesn't work in 3 months I will have to go on insulin I have over 30 chronic medical conditions so can't bend down so have to pay to have my toenails cut. My friend told me this isn't

Seeking a neurologist
I am diabetic on insulin and currently having burning and extremely hot feelings in my feet. I have been advised by family doctor to see a neurologist. Can someone suggest a neurologist in GTA who specializes in diabetic related issues like this.

I don’t feel like taking my much needed anti-depressant. But I’ve been down this road before with disastrous results. I will probably need meds for the rest of my life. My doctor said it’s the same as a diabetic who needs their insulin but I have trouble believing him. I’ve been having the same thought

Diabetes Type 2 finally.
Have mentioned this in a reply to another post. Today my doctor has prescribed me Metformin to address my blood sugar levels. I have tried (not massively but I have tried) to address my insulin resistant body but to no avail. I am sick and tired of saying to myself, you can't have that, you shouldn't

Amenorrhea over 2.5 years
Hello. I'm posting here on behalf of my almost 18 year old daughter. She started menstruating two days before her 12th birthday. She has pretty much only had a couple hard periods in her life, otherwise, a light bleeder. She started running cross country and track for her middle and then high school

Thyroid Results - Currently on strict protein ONLY diet
Below are my thyroid results. While I am very happy about this, I am not sure if they are optimum. I am sure they have improved over last few months as I removed all insulin spiking foods but still don't know if they are optimum. The T4 and T3 seem borderline to me. What are the symptoms of being borderline

2rd Post Series Part 1
Drug action information and diagnosis In My post “Post 1 Part 3” I attempted to describe my thinking on the concept of Stress Breakdown Point. Graph 1 in the “Post 1 Part 3” post indicated that a small change in stress could make a lot of difference in quality of life for people with chronic health
