My doctor phoned last evening and told me my latest blood test showed only a slight drop in criatinine (from 32 to 30 in the last month). He also said that, looking back the levels were recorded at 45 in December and 40 in February, but no-one said anything about that. My blood pressure has dropped to what he would be happy to see in a teenager, but not so happy in a 70+ (106/50). He's taken me off of one of my blood pressure tablets. I've also lost about a stone in weight in the last few weeks - not that I didn't need to, but I had given up on trying because the dietician says it's impossible for an insulin dependent diabetic.
Is it likely that this is all kidney related and do you think I should be concerned? I have to go for another blood test in about a month and will get another chance to talk to the doctor then. Is there any information I should try to get from him?

Hi Brillgirl and thank you for your post. It is hard to say if this is all kidney related. Your doctor will be able to advise regarding this. Is your diabetes well controlled? Continue to eat healthily and take regular exercise as this will also help you. Your practice nurse and doctor can also give advice about diet and exercise. It may help you to write down a list of questions that you may want to ask your doctor at your next appointment. Please let us know how you get on. Are there any other forum members who can help Brillgirl, please? Thank you and best wishes.
I read your post a few times and not quite sure what you are finding to be a problem? If I read it correctly (and the numbers are different in UK vs USA so maybe I do not understand correctly) your blood pressure had dropped to 106/50. A drop in blood pressure is GREAT. Yes it is a bit low. But I often get 98/50. I'm 70. My doctor says as long as I am not dizzy at any time, it is fine. I have lost weight too, which led to the bp drop. My blood pressure medications have been reduced by 75%. It sounds like your doctor is doing the same for you. This is great! You lost unneeded weight. Your bp is a tad low, but the reduction in meds will increase it. Your Creatinine has gone down from 40 or 45 to 30 or 32. I must be misreading your concern. These all seem like good things to me.
