Besremi versus Pegasys
This question was raised by Flynn2107 months ago. I looked into it and replied there but it seems worth a new post with the recent FDA approval. PEG and Ropeg (Besremi) use polyethylene glycol (PEG) to control the release of the INF molecule. The earliest INFs had less of a control element and more

Asthma and Bisoprolol

I have had Asthma for about 10 years now ( for some reason it suddenly started when I was in my early sixties) and I struggled with my Asthma inhaler for quite

Labs and medication dosage question
Hey all. I know you aren’t doctors, and I do have a thyroid dr, but she’s not my actual dr,( she costs thousands of dollars) BUT she has been nice enough to give me some medication recommendations as I had her on my podcast. I’ve had a night mare of a week with my other thyroid dr who basically told

Dehumidifier - worth getting?
I was diagnosed with Asthma in December, but my first maintenance inhaler made me worse, so I only started on the current one (Clenil Modulite) two days before we went on holiday. We were staying in a warm, dry house right by the sea. I felt awful when we set out to go there, but within a couple of

I first joined this forum some 10 years ago when my husband became very ill with COPD plus various cardiac issues. He sadly passed away almost 6 years ago so my contact with the forum stopped. My own health was reasonable - just high BP - but was constantly stressed because of trying to help my husband

Combining inhalers
I’ve had a most enlightening convo with my GP. Long story short, I wasn’t able to take my Braltus inhaler for a week alongside my Fostair 200 in the mornings. I had been experiencing real SOB for around a year… just climbing the stairs left me gasping for breath. V frightening. So to go without the

It's been a while since I've posted - 10 months or so... I've been very lazy about meds for months and finally recommitted myself to the process when my hair REALLY started to get thin and I got even heavier. Below are my Oct and December Thriva results. I haven't spoken to a doctor in months about

How to cope with a child with suspected asthma
Hi. I posted a while ago about my 3 year old LG who has suspected asthma and her medication and inhalers are not making a difference. She had the worse year last year and spent most of it coughing. It's really starting to take a toll on my mental health and I'm so anxious all the time about her having

Thyroidless
Almost 12 years ago I had surgery to remove an adenoma on my parathyroid gland. The surgeon not only removed 2 1/2 parathyroid glands but also did a complete thyroidectomy. There was no cancer. The surgeon said my thyroid was small and fragile (I suspect he didn't know what he was doing. I live in

Looking for the best supplement for pcos ?
Look no further , are you struggling on metformin ? , just taking Myo inositol ? Or maybe your not taking anything for your insulin resistance ? Let me introduce you to my lil friend, Inositol is a brilliant supplement. Inositol influences the action of insulin, a hormone essential for blood sugar control

Admitted - sigh
Got admitted again, despite being on Xolair and maintenance Prednisolone. Feel slightly disheartened? I'm hoping to leave tomorrow, but I'm struggling tonight, just using my inhaler. Hope everyone's New Year is going well.

Asthma or not?
Hi. I haven’t used a reliever or preventer asthma pump since august as I’ve been fine symptom free.. I went to the gym the other day and started feeling short of Breath easily and have done for a few days now.. I still haven’t used any inhaler as I’m not sure i have asthma due to my peak flow being 800

Fostair shortages
Hi all, it's Naomi, asthma nurse at AUK People have been telling us that they're struggling to get hold of their Fostair inhaler. I've been in touch with Chiesi, the manufacturers of Fostair, and there was a problem with logistics over Christmas and New Year and that messed the supply up - but normal

Help with steroids
I have a bad chest infection and was started on antibiotics & steroids last night. Between the steroids & using inhaler I had the jitters & racing HR which kept me awake. Can I take the steroids this morning instead of tonight? Haven't had steroids for a few years but remember being told best to take
