inhalers reduced
Has anyone else had their inhalers reduced , my husband has had 4 a month for over 20 years , Gp has reduced it to one a month . he has a nebuliser he uses 4 times a day . He’s really struggling, but they won’t give him any more , he’s on end of life care , and so worried that they don’t care by withholding

Can a new drug mimic the effects of exercise on bone and muscle?
Looks like this is something we should look forward to and keep an eye out for approval. Researchers have recently discovered that a new drug called locamidazole may help to prevent loss of bone density and muscle mass during periods of inactivity, but it’s no substitute for all of the benefits of exercise

Change of prescription
My doctor is changing my prescription from Braltus to Anoro. Has anyone using this inhaler noticed an improvement in their breathing. I would welcome any advice. Thanks.

FeNo test
I had lung function tests yesterday as a result of which I was diagnosed with asthma and started on a Fostair 100/6 inhaler. I return in a week for monitoring. When I had a FeNo test 18 months ago I scored 36. Yesterday I got 192, 167 and 150. This seems very high and I wonder what it indicates. I

Does PMR cause breathlessness and cold hands and feet?
I am 80. UK based. Diagnosed after a 7 month battle in Oct 2022 and started on 15 mg Now on 9.5mg but started to get breathless. I take a preventive asthma inhaler for years but never suffered badly. Saw the GP on Monday and it seems all conditions are now put down to PMR, including cold hands

Ventolin versus Salamol reliever inhalers
I’ve read a number of comments on this site concerning the move from Ventolin to Salamol inhalers. People are concerned that the Salamol inhaler is much weaker, therefore needing more puffs than the ventolin equivalent and I have also read about the bad taste of Salamol inhalers. It seems that Salamol

Smelling smoke a week after bonfire
Burnt some infected conifer branches a week ago and the wind changed direction leaving me gasping for air and singed nose hair. Now I can't shake off the smell of smoke, tried umpteen nasal sprays and an irrigation and used a nose hair trimmer to no effect. It's worse at night trying to sleep, short

How long can a asthma episode last?
My daughter has had asthma symptoms for 14 days. Needing inhaler every 4 hours. She had 10 days of steroids and 10 days of antibiotics for a chest infection. As you can imagine she is shacking. We have been to the doctors twice, oxygen level been good at 97. I mentioned if they just gave her a NEB the

If only issue is low AMH, why haven’t we conceived!?
Got the results back from Sperm DNA frag and my uterine biopsy and NK cell result- all fine! No issues. (See profile for past round updates/circumstances) I dont know where to go from here. We dont have embryos to test so can’t do the pgta testing. Feeling frustrated going into another round with

Considering whether the AFib is from asthma inhaler.
With PMR we have other comorbidities. As I tapered My pred from 8 to 7 3/4 I noticed increased palpitations …? Blame it on prednisone? Adrenal insufficiency ? My asthma inhaler? I decided to contact my pulmonary to, perhaps, change the inhaler, Breo, which has arrhythmia as an adverse effect. A person

weight
hi I’m 25 and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance. I have been trying so hard to lose weight but I can’t seem to despite working out four times a week and seeing a nutritionist. My endocrinologist wants me to take weight loss medicine but I’m very afraid of the side effects

Newly opened inhaler shakes
Hi all I’ve been on Symbicort 200/6 Turbohaler (plus other meds) for the last 18 months or so. I wonder if anyone else finds that they get the shakes for a couple of days when using a newly opened inhaler ? Once the inhaler has been opened and used for a 3 or 4 days this seems to stop. As soon

Absolute newbie!
I’m starting C25k (with my very reluctant husband!) and I’m a bit nervous! I have osteoarthritis in my knees and I’m mildly asthmatic (use Ventolin inhaler very occasionally!) I cannot imagine being able to run (I walk a lot) how difficult has it been for people-honestly??! 🫣😁

What would you say to her?
This friend I have (a very new friend) watched me have a asthma attack not a big one, not a problem because I take my inhaler everywhere, then she asked me what it’s like to have a asthma attack, I explained in a basic way because I was kind of embarrassed, but then she said something like, that sounds

Inhalers.......
Not sure if anyone can help. My 84 year old husband has bronchiestatis and maybe other lung conditions. He also has Acid Reflux and this can result in lung infections if the food gets into his lungs - the specialist told him this. However he has now decided NOT to use the spacer but to squirt the Fortistair

Insulin Resistance, Parkinson's Disease, Consequences And What To Do About It
The topic of insulin resistance (IR) in PwP is not often discussed. Has your MDS or neurologist ever tested you for IR? It is estimated that two thirds of people with PD who are not diabetic, have IR and very likely are not even aware they have IR as discussed here : https://www.parkinson.org/blog/
