Infliximab

Hi I’ve recently started on infliximab infushion for my rheumatoid arthritis I also have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Since my first infusion three weeks ago I’ve had an upset stomach for a week which meant a gap of three weeks between infusions instead of two.

Has anyone else had any issues with infliximab

hi I have two autoimmune diseases Crohn’s and behcets and am being treated with infliximab but I wonder if anyone else on this treatment gets bad headaches.. it’s horrendous any advice on how to help these I would be very grateful🙂

I get Infliximab infusions for Crohn’s disease , and it’s helping that issue . I read that Infliximab could mimic Lupus symptoms. The doctor didn’t listen to me and gave me Methotrexate script ..it’s been 3 months and it’s only helped a little.

I had a heart attack in April 2024 straight after a Infliximab infusion as part of treatment for Takyasu arteritis (rare form of vasculitis) and went on to have three stents fitted. I was advised that the heart attack was caused by the vasculitis as my arteries were inflamed.

Other external changes are that There is a new hefty anxiety at play at home and am also due my infliximab infusion in a week or so but been on that 20 years so unlikely to be at play here. Can anxiety cause this? Or need to attempt to get a GP appt?

Been on infusion for 18 months better but still got symptoms IBD nurse said I have high drug in me and high antibodies any ideas I haven't a clue what's going on that was from my bloods many thanks

Morning guys and girls they have stopped my infliximab due to it not working i was on amgevita before and that failed. Ive got ulcerative colitis peripheral spondyloarthritis and axial spondyloarthritis but nothing is keeping the colitis at bay.

Could it be the infliximab. It seems to have stopped the bleeding in my colon but my joints are worse. Any advice please would be great thankyou 🙏🙏🙏

I also take Methotrexate and have Infliximab infusions every 6 weeks. I saw Rheumy last week and asked for an alternative to Naproxen but was told I had to go to GP. GP is reluctant to issue alternative without consulting Rheumatologist!

I have tried all the medical treatments for Behcet's disease such as: cyclosporine, cyclophosphamide, infliximab, adalimumab, colchicine, azathioprine, and methotrexate, and every time after taking these drugs, the heartburn worsens and I get perianal fistula.

I am talking about three FDA-approved medications, , Tocilizumab, and Etanercept. These drugs all indirectly block CCL20.

I am currently in a very nasty flare and have to choose which biologic I would prefer to try next, Infliximab or a new drug called upadacitinib.

bad effects with infliximab so suggested to go to entyvio so read up on that and now it’s humia?? I’ve read about it and still don’t know why this one would me? I’m UK so it’s not insurance? How do they make decisions.

Hi all, my RA team are discussing the possibility of switching me to Infliximab and I'm just a little confused as to any reasons/benefits of continuing this via infusion or switching to self injecting? Can anyone help with this as to whether one is better for the other?

Has anyone on methotrexate and infliximab had the shingles vaccine ? Do you have to get it every year ?

I had a bad side effect with infliximab so now have to decide whether to continue with Entyvio or sterlara? I have read up but anyone got any advice?

I have in the last year or so found it necessary to contact them a few times regarding my treatment of Infliximab infusions which I usually have every six weeks as I have been in hospital for a couple of operations and had a few other complications that require medication that could interfere with Biologics
