Normal blood levels mean anything?
I generally have normal b12 levels in the 500-600 range but have symptoms that mimic b12 deficiency. Sometimes my folate levels are low and I supplement there but was wondering if b12 injections are the next step. My doctor did a parietal cell antibody test and that was high at 30 but mma was below

B12 deficiency, IFab negative, oral cyanocobalamine not working... what's the cause of deficiency?
Hi, I'm new here, just looking for any insight on my situation to try and figure out the cause of my b12 deficiency... For a little background: I'm 32, female. I first became aware of low b12 levels in mid 2020. I'd had 3 highly stressful years and was left feeling awful with anxiety, ear fullness

Very high B12
Two years ago my B12 was low and my physician prescribed shots. I completed those and also took oral B12 and Complex for a while. My B12 levels were back to normal and I stopped supplementation In Dec 2021, I had Covid and 2 months later I had routine blood tests along with B12. It was off the chart

Very high active b12, off supplementing
Hi was supplementing with methyl b12 2000mcg and a December blood test showed 1900 high levels of b12. 6 weeks later tested active b12 and it is still very high over 1600, Imy gene report states I have trouble absorbing b12, so how can I get it down? I am suffering anxiety and insomnia and wondering

Action Plan going forward and are these supplements ok?
Hi, Just an update, I am booked in for a phone consult with my GP later this week, so I am hoping to ask to be re-prescribed levo due to TPO antibodies >1300, TSH 4.65, FT4 13.6 and FT3 4.6. If GP won't re-prescribe it, I am going to ask them to contact Gynae (who I am on a waiting list to see due to

Functional B12 Deficiency?
I think I read here that you can have a normal serum B12 result but be deficient if the B12 is not getting through to the cells. I have always received copies of my blood test results so I know that in theory I am definitely not deficient as my last test in October 2021 was 698 (197-771) but I feel

Where to get a vitamin D test?
My GP (despite me asking a few times and my previous GP at the practice telling me to take vitamin D supplements) is reluctant to test my vitamin D level. I know vitamin D is fat soluble and can therefore build up in your body so would like to regularly check my vitamin D level (at least once a year

B12 deficiency
My nutritionalist has ordered B12 tests as I’ve had part of the small bowel removed she said I am not getting the nutrients and B12 if low could be causing a lot of my symptoms- when I look at the symptoms they match but I had been thinking it’s post surgery recovery and being hypothyroid. Not a great

I've been on levothyroxine for a year now and am doing ok now apart from constipation and the odd day of brain fog . I've tried vitamin d and eat Brazil nuts for selenium. Was thinking of going to Holland and Barrett tomorrow and investing in some vits . By reading a lot of comments on this site I'm

Help understanding B12 deficiency
Hi, I was hoping you guys could help me answer a question…. I have been taking B12 for a long time and I am just above the threshold for B12 deficiency. I have been advised to ask about Pernicious Anaemia and ask people who know. I have also been suggested to stop taking my B12 for five months to confirm

How long after stopping B12 supplements can I have a blood test?
Hi I want to get my vitamin B12 levels tested. I’ve read somewhere that you should only have a blood test something like 4 months after stopping any B12 supplements ….. Is this correct ? I have been taking 1 x Jarrow B12 2500 mcg sub lingual tablet plus a spray each day for past 5 years. I’m a bit

Vitamin D and B12
Can I take Vitamin D and my B complex together? My B complex contains folate. I take just B12 the weeks I have blood tests. Also working on ferritin which has raised from 9 (Oct) to 34. Going to get all vitamins retested in March as now on high dose vitamin D for severe deficiency. I take my iron at

Low iron and ferritin levels?
I have low iron. My HB is 9 and my ferritin levels are just 4. I also have many vitamin b12 and folate deficiency symptoms but my GP says my levels are fine and within the normal range. Vit b12 is 319 (range on the report was 197-771) and Folate is 5.9. Does anyone know if these deficiencies all go hand

B12/Folate
Hey all! I’ve been battling many deficiencies for a long time. Last year while taking glutathione, all of my memories disappeared, and I was completely numb. No emotions, no memories, no thinking, difficulty in making new memories, no awareness, altered consciousness etc. My nervous system was shutting

Iron level
If you need to get your iron level up try black strap molasses. It is a good source of easily absorbed iron.
