B12 & beauty industry .. rant
Feeling angry now that my daughter who I now supply with B12 (as I SI) and her GP is aware, current ongoing situation. I find that Her dad's girlfriend in The Beauty industry is using B12 and that last year she also gave my daughter B12 tablets with additional folic acid and overdosed her! Her GP noticed

Plummeting Iron levels. Should I be worried?
Me again! :) I've just had my vit levels tested via thriva and I'm a bit concerned about my iron levels plummeting! Should I be worried about it!? I am vegetarian, although I've been eating fish lately and I probably don't eat enough iron rich foods but I didn't anticipate it dropping this much in

B12
Hi, I’ve gone looking through previous blood tests following a post this morning about b12. I found my results from a few years ago with a result of 75 pmol/l with a range of 25-165 for active B12. It was noted to be within the normal range and there was no result for total b12. Does anyone know if

Very low B12 despite supplementing
I’m hoping someone here can give me some advice. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease in the summer with a raft of symptoms. One thing the blood tests showed was very low B12, D, folate, and ferritin. On the advice of a GP I began supplementing all of these. My latest blood tests show that my B12

Why muscles soon after taking B12 timed release or taking iron pills show improvement?
I had severe muscle pain and extreme muscle weakness but by taking B12 timed release and iron almost they improved, but as soon as I carry an object or do anything put sine pressure in my muscles those symptoms return back back after taking iron pills and B12 timed release they get improved. I think

Iron decreased after supplementation?!
After finding my ferritin levels were low as part of a full iron panel from Thriva in October (and on advice from my GP once she found out I am vegetarian), I started supplementing with liquid iron (15mg per day). After re-testing my iron panel 5 weeks later several of the results have got quite a bit

Does Si everyday deplete iron/stores in the body

I'd been feeling weary so had bloods done at doctor's. My iron was low so GP prescribed iron tablets.
I'd been feeling weary so had bloods done at doctor's. My iron was low; it has been for years; (I think it's always been low, even when I ate meat. I was told by a doctor 30 years ago that I was slightly anaemic; I think at the time I was hypo but it wasn't diagnosed) so GP has prescribed iron tablets

Vitamin advice
I know from here that multi vitamins are generally no good I wondered what the experts think to these Alive woman’s energy vitamins please? I currently take vitamins D, K, C, magnesium and selenium, but wouldn’t mind trying something for an extra energy boost! In addition to the photo, they also contain

How low do you go before your next injection?
Has anyone had their B12 retested just before their next injection is due to see how low their B12 levels have dropped? If so, what was your level?

Platelet count high and B12 deficiency
One of the main reason of high platelet high count is B12 deficiency and if it's not treated by taking B12 specially injection can cause heart attack due to blood clot. There is also a link between vitamin d deficiency and high platelet count. High platelet count also can be alarming for some cancers

Its all about the Iron. Do I go on taking Iron Fumerate?
So it is almost exactly a year since I first got the diagnosis of RLS, having suffered for many years with the symptoms. I share the track of the year to add the growing amount of information for us all. In the past year I have stopped drinking alcohol, drink no caffeinated tea, one cup of coffee in

Advice on Iron Supplements Please
My GP has agreed that I should have a blood test to check my iron levels but in the meantime has suggested that I should take an iron supplement 2-3 times a day. Based on previous advice seen on this forum, this seems excessive so I am thinking that I will just take gentle iron once a day as shown on

Time for Yet Another Paradigm Shift
Maybe we need to pass on the Vitamin C. Clinical trial showed no increased absorption https://www.verywellhealth.com/vitamin-c-iron-supplement-study-5087131 The above trial only tested with pure vitamin C. Substances like orange juice and other fruit juices are rich in polyphenols which can decrease
