If you need to get your iron level up try black strap molasses. It is a good source of easily absorbed iron.

Thanks for this tip. I'll have to try it.

This is the "home remedy" that I first tried, and it totally cut into my severe RLS - but I quickly switched to Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate - a much better supplement. I think the iron in Black Strap Molasses is from the cutting equipment not from the molasses.

I'll try it. I'm desperate.

I recommend trying it as per my profile page. If you are taking SSRIs or melatonin it will probably be of little benefit. You can't have RLS and be on SSRIs unless it's Wellbutrin. Statins, certain antacids and antihistamines will also make the symptoms of RLS quite bad. They do not make the RLS itself any worse. The day you stop (a little longer in the case of SSRIs) is the day your RLS should go back to baseline...maybe even a little better than baseline, albeit temporarily. The DAs will make the RLS itself worse because they down-regulate the calming D2 receptors and up-regulate the excitatory D1 receptors. After stopping the DAs it can take several months for your receptors to return to baseline. In addition to the iron (as per my profile page) I recommend not eating at night - meaning fasting from about 7pm till your breakfast meal - every night. Good luck.
