The Use Of Selective HDAC6
[i]In CLL, malignant B cells evade immune detection and lead to immune suppression. Recently, histone deacetylases (HDACs) have been shown to play an active role in the regulation of pathogenesis and immune-related pathways in CLL, although their role in B-cell receptor signaling remains unknown. Nicotine & benefits in gastrointestinal tract
Hi all, I was first diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2007 & this was later changed to a diagnosis of Crohn's in more recent times. I am also now going through the process of diagnosis of what is believed to be GPA\Wegeners. I also have 2 discs that are degenerating so we have 3 chronic diseases

What you need to know about the 2016 flu vaccine
In Australia, about twice the number of people die from influenza each year than are diagnosed with CLL/SLL. I expect the statistics would be the same for other Western countries. For the first time this year, the publicly funded vaccine program in Australia will offer the quadrivalent flu vaccine

Blood work
Has anyone noticed abnormal blood test results (high leukocytes, neutrophiles, lymphocytes count and ESR) ONLY when under steroid or immunosuppressive treatment (everything goes back to normal when treatment is stopped)? In my understanding such abnormal results are a marker of inflammatory disease so

Neuro Beçhets and Meningitis
2) Was it related to your Beçhets, or was it from being on
immunosuppressants
? 3) Would a spinal fluid come back pretty much clear after just a few days of antibiotic and antiviral treatments? Would it come back clear anyway?

Autoimmune Diseases
Medically,
immunosuppressants
are prescribed in order to suppress the patient’s immune system to reduce the severity of the reaction. Alongside the preventative measures, pain medication and anti-inflammatories are used to tackle the symptoms of the disease.

Dad going downhill fast
Now he is having to wait for a CT scan and depending on what they find they could try
immunosuppressants
but this would be a "last ditch attempt". He now has a home oxygen monitoring system where he has to send his results down the line. 1 week ago his levels were 90. He is now down to 75.

How to reduce the drugs???
Hi folks hope you're doing ok. I was wondering whether anyone has managed to get their immunosuppression medication down to minimal levels? My Adoport was reduced from 3.5 x 2 to 1mg X 2 - & my creatinine finally broke the 200 barrier for the first time in 16 months since the transplant - and I felt

Hello all
Am so glad this forum is here. I've popped in now & then over the past few years, but not said hello. I'm inspired to post by pam's thread..I like the way she has introduced herself! I'm a bit more longwinded 😜 My ED also seems to come from mother & father, although father seemed more marfanoid

Tacrolimous and eczema
Would it be possible to put a question on the page? Has anyone else who is on Tacrolimous (or any other immunosuppressive drug I don't know if they work the same) suffered or suffers with eczema? My little girl is 8 and is on Tacrolimous and her eczema is awful. Kings told me that as she is on Tacrolimous

Advice Needed - Test result. IgE 1142, precipitin positive, other severe illnesses, no treatment?
Main medications are Qvar inhaler, Spiriva inhaler, and

(Methotrexate (low dose) and Enbrel) for psoriatic arthropathy, and painkillers / creams for psoriasis. Conditions have been stable for years.

Vitamin D and vasculitis
During the last few days a number of newspapers have reported a study which suggests that Vitamin D may be helpful in the treatment of MS. For example the Daily Mirror: http://www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/health/could-vitamin-d-cure-multiple-7095294 It is not the first time Vitamin D has been connected
