Ikervis

I've been prescribed Clinitas Carbomer eye gel, Ikervis eye drops and Hylo-tear drops for around 4 years now. Everytime I am seen by opthalmology, they ask me if I want to try punctal plugs as my eyes are so sore and dry despite the meds.

Has anyone else experienced the same and if so, did stopping the Ikervis help with the blur/haze?

I'm on hydroxychloroquine, mepacrine, Asprin, clopidogrel, Ikervis eye drops. I’ve never been offered A biopsy . anyone else had a similar experience? Any advice welcome Thanks

Hi I have RA for years on lefluminide celebrex thyroxine b12 ,I have suffered terrible head and face sweating for a few years getting worse,just had cataracts done sight is fine but my dry eyes are causing me so much discomfort,I have hi lo tears and ikervis at night it's 5 weeks since cataracts done

And no doctor had experience w it, that ikervis could worse dryness so they recommended to continue using it, cause they all just have positive experiences. After over a month without ikervis i started using it again cause there already were dry as hell so it couldnt get worse.

Been started on colchicine, and prescribed ikervis for eyes and dexamethasone drops. Which have been a saviour as my last flare in my eyes lasted 4 months untill this medication was started. 2 days ago was the first time I saw the whites of my eyes in months and I can’t tell you how happy I felt.

Using Ikervis. The issue for me is that I have profound fatigue. Every day is the same. Just utterly exhausted. My consultant has said some people are like that but I haven’t yet heard of anyone who struggles every day. Does anyone have severe disabling fatigue? I have gastric issues. Gallstone.

I was given some drops called Ikervis for the dry eye and put back on glaucoma drops in the eye with raised pressure. I am also having surgery for hip replacement in 3 weeks time. I live alone and don’t see much of my family. I feel so alone and unable to cope with all this by myself.

Apparently they also exist at a lower dose and are sold as Ikervis. I was ready to use them until I read some very negative reports on the web. Does anyone have any experience of them? Thanks

The ikervis drops have significantly helped the vision issues. My hand and foot pain has progressed and I have started falling and dropping things - it feels like my muscles aren’t working right. Anyone else with SLE have this issue?

He didn't think I would be at any significantly greater risk of infection or complication and I can continue with the iKervis drops before and after the surgery. He thinks the current symptoms are a lupus /sjogrens flare.

Incidentally, when I also stated that I was using ciclosporine (Ikervis) eye drops, I was told that ciclosporine is not used for eyes! The implication being... Still de-looping from that appointment...have to say not good (probably one of the worst because my expectations were high).

I was prescribed iKervis. The eye drops are inserted last thing at night. But it hurt like crazy for up to half an hour. I persevered for a week then couldn't take it any longer. My rheumatologist was sympathetic and prescribed pilocarpine tablets instead.

Now my dermatologist has put me on protopic and opthalmologist has given me ikervis I still can't obtain ndt.

And will ask about ikervis ciclosporin when I see the eye 'bod' on 11 September. I'll post an update when I've been. Have to say, I didn't realise how blurred my vision had got until I started having brief moments of almost clarity.
