Just arrived!
I have been on an
Ibrutinib
trial (Icicle) for almost 2 years and am doing quite well on it. I am susceptible to chest infections/pneumonia so I have IVIG infusion every 4 weeks to support my immune system.

Novel Combos Are Shaking Up the CLL Landscape but FCR still has its place
Patients received 3 cycles of iFCG followed by
ibrutinib
for 9 cycles and obinutuzumab for either 3 or 9 cycles, depending upon response and MRD levels. After 12 cycles,
ibrutinib
therapy stopped for those with undetectable bone marrow and continued for those with detectable MRD.

Sidewhacked by Richter’s transformation twice: epilogue
The wonders of modern medicine advances over the last 20 years such as autologous stem cell transplants and
Ibrutinib
allowed us to have many more years than we expected. For this I am truly grateful and feel blessed.

Ibrutinib Side Effect???
He started on
Ibrutinib
three weeks ago. He hasn’t had many side effects that he can tell and actually pretty much stopped having night sweats after day two and has a bit of insomnia. Since he has been feeling better, he overdid it on a few days and had to rest next days to recover.

Has CLL damaged a my sperm?
Took
Ibrutinib
for 9 months, and been off
ibrutinib
for 6 months. Just turned 61. Divorced the uncaring, non-contributing toxic wife, finalized June 2019. I have a friend, she is 39 pre-menopause and a big part of her wants a child.

ASH 2018: Dr. Chadi Nabhan on the Cost of Ibrutinib vs. Chemo vs Chemoimmunotherapy in CLL and on way too much chemo being used.
This time at ASH 2018, we also discussed his innovative research using claims data from 2014- 2017 on the total cost of care for CLL patients who took
ibrutinib
versus chemotherapy or chemo-immunotherapy (CT/CIT). Guess what- The total cost is cheaper with
ibrutinib
.

Platelet drop
I am off
Ibrutinib
and veneclax for 4 mos and doing well except my platelets keep dropping with every appointment. Happen to anyone else? I was to have surgery for a melanoma and it had to be cancelled due to low platelet count. Tired of all this. Thanks

Need quick advice about going off ibrutinib for two weeks
My oncologist has requested I go off
ibrutinib
(420) for two weeks so he can see how I do and to determine if some side effects are from med. I’ve been on it since late December. Results excellent. Tests in July look nearly normal.

Ibrutinib and A1c drop
My A1c has dropped to normal since I have been on
Ibrutinib
. I was wondering if Cll raises Blood Sugar or the
Ibrutinib
lowers it. Anyone have this experience. I found two cases on the internet.

Long-term safety of single-agent ibrutinib in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in 3 pivotal studies
Key Points * In 424 patients with CLL on long-term
ibrutinib
, AEs were primarily grade 1/2 and manageable; the majority of patients continued therapy. * AE management requiring dose modification most commonly occurs in the first year of
ibrutinib
and does not preclude extended therapy.

Ibrutinib update for me
The obvious conclusion is the
ibrutinib
is still very effective. At the previous consult my heamtologist gave me prednisone to both tackle fatigue and help with the arthritis.

Factors Identified for Risk of Second Cancer in CLL Following BTK Inhibition
It was thought that the lack of DNA damage with
Ibrutinib
and Acalabrutinib would prevent this risk.
