I am off Ibrutinib and veneclax for 4 mos and doing well except my platelets keep dropping with every appointment. Happen to anyone else? I was to have surgery for a melanoma and it had to be cancelled due to low platelet count. Tired of all this. Thanks

Platelet drop
have you had your spleen checked?
Is your CLL specialist checking for the causes of your decline?

There are many possible suspects and it may take a good hematologist some time and effort to dig into it to suss out the root cause.

Ninagram, while what is happening to you has not happened to me, I wanted to say, I hear your plaint.
You have had a rough go of it with CLL, breast cancer, having an interruption of your CLL treatment, and now melanoma that needs seeing to and platelets not being adequate to deal with that added cancer at this point.
You have come through a lot of diversity and it is no wonder you are tired with it all. I know it is small comfort, but as Len has said, the CLL Specialist is most likely seeking the cause of the platelet loss, which is not always straight forward.
Please know you are in my thoughts. I hope, as you are able to do so, you will let us know how things go.
Hi Nina and I’m sorry to hear this. Yes you’re right to be tired of all this!
Presumably your specialist has eliminated the possibility of ITP? I see your platelets were dropping as long as 2 yrs ago from your previous posts.
How low are they now and have no treatments been offered especially to get you over the melanoma surgery?
I had melanoma excisions too and you’ll appreciate it needs doing as soon as possible. Please push for greater answers and resolution of your thrombocytopenia.
I’m on I&V and was found to have low platelets too but not yet desperate at 90.
Best wishes,
