Hi, I’m new here, I was diagnosed with ET 6 weeks ago.
My platelet count was 540 and after 6 weeks of 500mg daily of Hydroxyurea my count is now 304. I won’t be seeing the doctor for another 7 weeks and I’m concerned that if my count continues to drop at that rate, it will be way too low by then! I have a call into the doctors but I’d appreciate any thoughts

ET and Prostate Cancer
Have copd. I was diagnosed with ET CALR positive, Jak2 negative not long ago and I am on hydroxyurea. My PSA jumped from 4.5 to 9.8 last blood test (going to urologist August 18 2021). My father died from prostate cancer when he was 95. I took care of my father through the whole nightmare of this disease

GI bleeds
My wife has been on 3 anagrelide a day and 1
hydroxycarbamide
every other day for quite a while now, they both work very well at keeping her platelets in the normal range.

Getting frustrated with the delay approval of ropeg In the US
Sometimes I can't help to think if enough is being done for MPN sufferers. According to multiple research ropeg has shown superiority over hydroxyurea with Ultimate possible significant molecular response in a selective number of MNP patients. So why there's a delay in getting access

Is anyone concerned on the side-effect of taking hydroxyurea for long time?
Is anyone concerned on the side-effect of taking hydroxyurea for long time? I am taking 500mg/day and scared with the toxicity of this medicine in long term. I heard Interferon is much better than HU and has chance to change JAK2 + to negative. Anyone any recommendation? I am JAK2+ with platelets ~600

Does the Astra Zenica vaccine cause platelets to clump together???
My wife has been on her current dosage of Anagrelide and
hydroxycarbamide
, for the past couple of years and her platelets have been quite settled at around 300. Her FBC showed 371 platelets six weeks ago, a few days later she had the AZ vaccine. Today her platelets were 153 and showing clumps.

Anybody on both Pegasys and HU
Is anyone on both Pegasys and hydroxyurea at the same time to control their p-vera. The lower dose of pegasys has less chance of side effects but may still lower jak2 allele burden. The goal would be to have low doses of both drugs to lower any side effects while still controlling HCT.

Searching for MPN Specialist
I live in Seattle, WA, USA and there are two identified MPN specialists, however, the ratings for these doctors could be better. There is someone in Boston where I have family who sounds fantastic, but is it possible to be so far away from your doctor? I see the hematologist every 6 months, with blood
