Hi everyone, hope you are all well and enjoying the sun.
How does everyone find their hayfever while on HU? I was fine while taking anagrelide and found that hayfever tabs did the trick, this year am on HU (it's been 6 months now) and man am I suffering with hayfever, big time!!! Have anti histamine from dr that arent touching the sides!!
Any ideas, advice or experiences greatly welcomed.
Am in the UK, ET triple negative
Thanks all

Dyspnea is a common side effect Hydroxyurea. Perhaps the combination of allergies and the side effects of HU are what you are experiencing. Assuming your leukocytes are not too low, that would seem like the most likely explanation. Suggest reviewing this with a MPN Specialist who is more familiar with HU side effects than a regular hematologist.
Based on what you stated, it may be that you tolerate anagrelide better than HU. We are all different in how we respond to these meds. Hope you get answers soon,
Hi I’m on 1500 mg of hydroxycarbamide and suffer with hay fever I was the same on tablets for hay fever I’m now just using the Beconase nasal spray and I’m fine
Hi that's strange. I was on Hydroxurea for about 6 years and didn't have major hayfever symptoms apart from sore eyes in the Spring. I am now on Anagrelide and just have the same sore eyes but nothing else. I guess we all react differently. There are loads of different hayfever treatments so maybe you could try a different one. My son suffers from severe allergies including nuts, grass, pollen and dust and we had to change his hayfever medication as it wasn't working. Good luck with it all.
