Is it safe to take mesalazine/octasa long term for ulcerative colitis?
Hi everyone, I'm Claire and was diagnosed with mild/moderative ulcerative colitis last year. Apart from an initial flare up (followed by diagnostic procedures leading to a diagnosis), my only symptoms have been an uncomfortable/slightly painful feeling in my stomach/upper intestine. My gastroenterologist

New to Forum, but not to IBS
Hi all, I was diagnosed with IBS some 30 years ago, but think I had it a long time before that. I used to have flare ups, but now I have symptoms most days and not having stomach discomfort takes me by surprise.Had lots of tests, blood and stools, nothing found. But GP thought upper right quadrant

Ct showed tumor but not on colonoscopy
Hello all. So my father, who is in his late mkd60s, was having digestive symptoms- pain and trouble passing stool. After seeing his doctor several times he ended up in the er where a ct scan was done. The ct scan showed a large (6 cm) ill defined mass at the junction of the descending and sigmoid colon

CRS4PC and Zytiga side effects ?
My hubby is 69 and recently started Zytiga three weeks ago and it seems that he has developed moderate fatigue and low appetite since one week ago. I’m wondering if this could be a side effect of the Zytiga or if anyone thinks it’s an immunity infection attack.

Colonoscopy
Hello, I’ve been having various bowel issues for the past few months, ie. constipation, bloating, slight pain in lower back, bit of diarrhoea and my Dr would like me to go for a colonoscopy. As there’s no bleeding, I assumed it could be something else. Am I wrong to think this? Any advice welcome

I don’t have fibromyalgia ( I am so sorry you do) but yes my blood pressure medicine Clonidine makes me shake (my insides shake) .it’s awful
check the side effects of your medicine ( all of them) perhaps your doctor can switch you to something else with less side effects 🙏I’ll pray for you. I can relate

Oxynorm
I'm too .... shattered... to give a nicely put story even a short n sweet would be too much right now. So in the meantime I would love to hear your thoughts on Oxynorm as pain relief for brutal endometriosis. It's helping reasonably well for me (though not fully I may add) Many thanks in advance

hi all, I have very low ferritin and need to supplement iron. Do I need to take my carbimazole away from iron or it doesn’t matter?

SMALL-CELL NEUROENDOCRINE CARCINOMA
Following prostate cancer first treated with low dose brachytherapy, then ten years later with high dose brachytherapy, from a biopsy following a Turp, I was diagnosed with SMALL-CELL NEUROENDOCRINE CARCINOMA. From a CT scan this was found in my prostate, bladder, and lower colon. I am told that it

Panic Attacks and Obsessive thoughts
hello everyone! So glad to be joining this group. I had health with panic disorder, anxiety, and Tourette’s for some time now, but have noticed a big turn in how I can manage. Last year I began planning a trip to Australia so my partner and I could go and meet his family. That trip ended a month ago

Reconstruction after Mastectomy
Happy Holidays!!! I was wondering if there's anyone who's had a mastectomy with reconstruction and regretted it. I'm 43 MBC and there's a mass in tge same breast they've been watching but I think it's time to have the mastectomy as a preventative measure. Anyone willing to share their experiences?

Antidepressants
Hi all, Increased anxiety has become one of my worst symptoms of B12 deficiency and (possible*) PA. I’m on 4 weekly B12 injections (Hydrocobalamin 1mg) on the NHS but I’ve not noticed any improvements so far. I’ve had the 6 loading doses and 2 further injections so far. I’m taking D3/K2 (3000iu/100ug

Incomplete Evacuation and Diarrhoea
Hi there, 26yo female suffering with debilitating daily morning diarrhoea followed by incomplete evacuation, where it feels like my muscles just stop moving and there's an obstruction. I was diagnosed with IBS in 2020 when symptoms started, tried fodmap diet, mebeverine, linseeds, anitbiotics for suspected

Hello all! Today I’m supposed to be with my family in my hometown but found out Monday I have progression in my spine, ribs, pelvis and liver so spent this week in the hospital getting bone cement injection to repair a compound fracture in my spine and begin radiation. Thankfully I was released yesterday
